Har!!!
Share and share alike, babe! You know how we do!
If restriction of Religious Freedom is part of any party or movement's platform then, yes, you can count me out.
Religious Liberty is the Cornerstone of the Republic.
Without Religious Liberty you are doomed to all manner of Tyranny.
Yes, it is THAT important to me, and it should be THAT important to everyone.
Personally, I dont consider a place where people go to incite murder/war against the American people a legitimate house of worship. Do you?
You don't outlaw the building of religious houses of worship, you outlaw the incitement to murder and war against the American People. As far as I can tell, that is the current state of the law.
Perhaps we need better enforcement to ensure that that kind of rhetoric is not preached from the pulpits of the Churches or Mosques, but if you recall, Jeremiah Wright has been preaching that kind of hatred from a so-called Christian Church, has he not? Should we then prevent the Church of Christ, the denomination to which he is affiliated, from building Churches simply because there are Jeremiah Wrights among its leadership?
Sorry I may disagree with the Muslims on their religious beliefs, but I will defend to the death their right to believe it. When the Muslim tramps on my rights as a Christian, you can bet I will be there to defend to the death the Christian's right to believe what they believe.
We elected you on a promise of hope and change. We regret it. In 2010, we are taking the country back. Blue collar democrats, independents, and conservatives. We love our country. We are proud of our founders. And we will fight to protect our traditions.
“Sorry I may disagree with the Muslims on their religious beliefs, but I will defend to the death their right to believe it. When the Muslim tramps on my rights as a Christian, you can bet I will be there to defend to the death the Christian’s right to believe what they believe.”
Odd phraseology since defending their right to kill you to YOUR death is eminently possible.
Have you watched the news today? In Malaysia, muslims are rioting because Christians dared to call GOD Allah.
Did you see that Coptic Christians were just murdered in their CHURCH in Egypt?
They have already staged several attacks on Jewish places of worship here in this country. Are you going to defend them when they attack a Christian church that is not of your denomination? Where do you draw your line?
America Rising: An Open Letter to Democrat Politicians
Excellent video at your link. I just wish it was somewhere besides youtube. Anything google makes the left that much richer. It’s just a shame.

Okay. Thanks for that advice. So stick them on the outside. I have had flyers stuck in my own mailbox. Others get them inside their stormdoors. Who enforces that?
I am defending their right to believe, not their right to kill. I am sorry if you can't see the difference.

That is the kind of thing we will see here if Mosques are outlawed. Do you support the killing of Muslims on the streets of Detroit? Well if you endorse a systematic discrimination against American Muslims then you will likely see the kind of bloodshed against Muslims by people claiming to be Good Americans that you see in Egypt being acted out by "Good Muslims" against Christians and which was acted out by "Good Germans" against the Jews.
If this movement has at its core the principle that America will not allow the building of Mosques, then I will not be a part of that movement. Religious liberty requires a wide latitude of tolerance by all members of a society. We can outlaw religious practices that violate our morals and as such we can outlaw animal sacrifices and slavery and wife beating, but we go over the line when we outlaw the building of religious buildings or outlaw the traditional teachings of any religion.
For instance Muslims are free to believe that a man can have 4 wives, but they are not free to practice that belief (unless those 4 wives are all transgendered or the same sex as the Husband). They are free to believe that infidels and should be treated as slaves, but they are not free to own infidels as slaves.

BURNIN' DOWN THE TENT!
"The Camel's nose is a metaphor for a situation where permitting some small undesirable situation will allow gradual and unavoidable worsening. A typical usage is this, from U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater in 1958:
"This bill and the foregoing remarks of the majority remind me of an old Arabian proverb: "If the camel once gets his nose in the tent, his body will soon follow." If adopted, the legislation will mark the inception of aid, supervision, and ultimately control of education in this country by the federal authorities."
"According to Geoffrey Nunberg, the image entered the English language in the middle of the 19th century. An early example is a fable printed in 1858 in which an Arab miller allows a camel to stick its nose into his bedroom, (then its head, its neck,) then other parts of its body, until the camel is entirely inside and refuses to leave.
"Lydia Sigourney wrote another version, a widely reprinted poem for children, in which the camel enters a shop because the workman does not forbid it at any stage.
"By 1878, the expression was familiar enough that part of the story could be left unstated. "It is the humble petition of the camel, who only asks that he may put his nose into the traveler's tent. It is so pitiful, so modest, that we must needs relent and grant it."
Yes. And this is my newest favorite song. :)
