Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has signed a multi-year deal with FOX News to serve as a contributor across all FOX News platforms, announced Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming.

In making the announcement, Shine said, "Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup." As a contributor, Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOXNews.com, and FOX News-produced special event political programming for FOX Broadcasting.

In addition, she will host periodic episodes of FNC's "Real American Stories," a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010.

Palin added, "I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at FOX News. It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news."

Coming from Imus that is a complement.
If it comes down to Palin vs. Obama, that
comment will change.

It’s Dom Imus who’s not in line.

Just last week, he told Neil Cavuto (his immediate boss) that Sarah is a DOPE.

I am going to set my alarm to make certain I see his show from the very start tomorrow morning. I’ll TIVO the first hour of Fox ‘n Friends.

I hope Palins contract end before the 2012 election.

His comments will change quicker than that.
I’ll wager she will eventually appear on his show.
He’ll MELT.

I hope Palins contract ends before the 2012 election. She is going to need a little time to prepare for the WH.

Multi-year deal? Sounds like national politics will be put on hold...

Great; Cavuto needs big help; Imus has been a disaster, Glick left, and so did Keenan, their two best analysts and he always appears to have indigestion

I think Sarah’s making a tactical mistake. I don’t have evidence, but my gut is saying, back off.

He’s weird. He likes Paul Begala. Enough said.
His wife is wonderful. She despises the people we despise, like Tom Freedman and says so on the air.

I think the most amazing thing Fox has done is the transformation of Greta. Once she was unleashed from the blonde girls missing stories, she’s actually done some good reporting. I’d rather have Greta than Shep any day!

Remember Reagan’s news article campaign?

I remember that for some time prior to entering the 1980 race, Reagan had a daily radio spot that ran about a minute or two in length where he would talk about a certain topic. It was pretty good. Is that what you're talking about?

Imagine that ON STEROIDS!!!!

Are you saying that Palin would be like Reagan on steroids?

I think you’re right about that—her educational background that is so lampooned is just about perfect for our modern world. I hope this works for her.

With this news, there will be pressure on the Fox liberal voices like Beckel, Colmes, etc. to quit Fox in protest of Palin.

I don't think Colmes would leave; Beckel might, but who cares about that 1-state blowhard anyway?

YESSSSS! FOX needs new blood, and Sarah will have a terrific outlet for her views. A brilliant move!

I think Sarah’s making a tactical mistake. I don’t have evidence, but my gut is saying, back off.

It could be, but I think she is reaching the limit of what she can do on Facebook without some other medium to support it. She made significant moves during the Book tour. But, that is over. Speeches and events with big crowds are wonderful but not enough to reach out to independents.

So I believe, she also wanted a forum where she could control the topic and hammer a single topic rather than just responding to interviewers. FOX gives her this opportunity, to produce packets like her Facebook posts in video form and see them fan out across the net. This will reach more people and once again be resistant to filtering by the MSM. This is my guess.
