Mrs Clinton dismissed criticism that aid was not leaving Port-au-Prince's airport

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has become the first senior Western official to arrive in Haiti after the earthquake that flattened the capital.

Mrs Clinton said she was visiting to express the US's "long-term, unwavering support, solidarity and sympathies".

Tens of thousands of people were killed and survivors have grown desperate as they wait for aid to arrive.

Relief has been arriving, but little has moved beyond the jammed airport and there are reports of gangs and looting.

She also dismissed criticism from many in Haiti that aid was not leaving the airport and being delivered to the people who needed it.

"It's not fair, it's not fair," she replied, saying the aid was getting out.

“You’re doing a great job, Hilly!” What a bunch of total incompetents. Obama is a first-rate loser presiding over a third-rate presidency.

Give the slow response here, we can tell obama doesn’t like Black people much.

Last night I heard a Haitian ‘dignitary’ who lives here in the states say that the reason the Dominican Republic is thriving is because they are white and Haitians are black.

Relief didn’t get to New Orleans fast enough for the people who criticized that effort - of course, everything was under water there but that didn’t matter to them. The griping still goes on about lack of response after Katrina.

Supposedly roads are impassable in Haiti and relief can’t get through but criticism is not warranted?

Several different TV stations show different scenes - roads blocked but others with moving traffic on them. Which is it?

Republican administrations deserve the criticism but Democrat administrations do not, I guess. As long as we all understand the game they play.

A photographer for the Reuters news agency said he had seen a mob of about 1,000 people fight for goods found in destroyed shops and homes in the centre of the capital, Port-au-Prince. "It's anarchy there now, total chaos, the police have gone away," Chris Barria said. "They are fighting, hitting each other, throwing stones at each other." Wait I thought Obama aid was going to be "fast timely and aggressive" or something like that.

I can’t wait to hear about how Hillery!
had to run a gauntlet of machete wielding
Haitian zombies to get to the airport,
where she calmly distributed food and
surgical gloves to overwrought UN personnel.

What I want to know is the following:
1. What size plane did she use?
2. If it was a large one was there food and supplies on it or just a comfortable show boat?
3. Did she really feel she needed to fly there with such limited air space for disaster relief?
Thanks.

......If it was a large one was there food and supplies.....

She carried much needed tampons and Planned Parenthood donated condoms. They are small and don’t weigh much

She would have got there sooner but apparently she had to have her botox injections first. Her and Bill are in bed with the commie looters that made Haiti what it is today. Looking at her makes me want to barf. Those poor people in Haiti.

A couple geography questions?

Does anybody know exactly what it is that separates Haiti form DR?

It looks like a natural border, though no more rugged than parts where Mexico borders the US at the Rio Grande?

Is there a DMZ or wall, a la North and South Korea?

Why were the boat people taking boats to get to the US, rather than just traversing their way by water or mountain through to the Dominican?

I read reports that the Dominican Republic closed the border with military on the day of the earthquake to prevent massive refugee migration.

From the sound of things in Haiti, it seems like any day for the last half century would have been a good day to migrate.
