WASHINGTON – Two heroes of the Fort Hood massacre will be honored guests at Wednesday night's State of the Union speech.
Sgts. Kimberly Munley and Mark Todd – the Fort Hood police officers who stopped the rampage, in a firefight that left Munley badly wounded – will watch the speech from first lady Michelle Obama's box.
Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan has been charged with killing 13 people on Nov. 5 at Fort Hood, in the worst mass murder on a U.S. military installation, before Munley and Todd managed to intercede. Hasan is paralyzed.
Congress and the military continue to investigate the missed warning signs about Hasan, a psychiatrist who had communicated with a radical Yemini-American cleric.

Amazing to see the circle of life - in 1978 I was in Wiesbaden Germany with the 10th Cavalry when then President Carter came for a visit. The dog and pony show was incredible. I took guard duty for the night before so I could sleep through it.
I have always believed if you talk to them or allow them to “use” you - they will think you approve of them. I show that ilk utter disdain - just walk away!
Did the same thing at Aviano Italy when the KKKlintons came to visit. Made sure I was not in a position to be "volunteered" to be part of the crowd detail.
When I was at Andrews, just before my retirement, that was a regular feature of life...not only was there crowd detail, but they made us change into civvies and cheer...every time the danged airplane landed there (yes, it got old...fast).
You were part of the forced military “applauders” for Bubba Clinton at Andrews AFB?
See - all those years we knew and talked about such forced/staged “receptions” for Bitlery here but you’re the first “eyewitness” to such goings on that I have read.

Whoa...she is doing nothing of the sort. Those "honors" are not bestowed by her. She holds no authority in the matter. She only has to tolerate their presence, be gracious, and smile. That honor comes from the President. Look to this speech to be a huge re-establishment effort of his cult personality hype.

When I was at Robins AFB, vehicles with anti-KKKlinton bumper sticjers were stopped at the gates. Officers were warned that they would be court-martialed under Art. 88 for anti-Clinton speech and enlisted were threatened under Art. 92. Fun days </sarc>

I for one would like the first lady to stop being a hypocrite, telling a graduating class at UC Merced to work for “the good of mankind (or something)”, not for personal gain while she swans about in designer, hideously expensive duds - really, if you are someone who lives with the motto “What is good for thee is not for me”, own it! She is bitter, resentful, pampered and lives in her own little, exclusive world - and wants to tell me how to live mine - no thank you!
