U.S. optics manufacturer Trijicon has bowed to pressure to remove biblical references from their optics products, just days after the decades-old practice was sensationalized in an ABC News report that claimed the references were secret Jesus Bible codes that could inflame radical Muslims who have attempted to brand wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as modern crusades since those conflicts began.
Trijicons Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG) telescopic sight and close-combat Reflex optic are key components of the U.S. Special Operations Peculiar Modification (SOPMOD) kit adopted for the Green Berets M4 carbines in the late 1990s, and have since been adopted widely by other U.S. military forces and allied foreign governments. The U.S. Marine Corps currently has a $660 million multi-year contract to supply 800,000 ACOGs.
Trijicon founder Glyn Bindon had included references to biblical passages on the companys optics from its inception (and before military adoption), and the tradition was continued after his death in 2003....

Well, it was most likely cave or lose the government contract. Either way, the bible references would have been off of the scopes. If I were still in, I’d keep my Jesus rifle...
I could care less about “inflaming radical muslums”.
I think we should get them mad than shoot there as* with the aid of a Trijicon.
Now wait just a minute. We’re playing PC with the enemy?
wow, the persecution is getting unbearable. /s
My ACOG serial number ends with JN8:12 - When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
One of the hazards of COTS acquisitions.
—bet they didn’t put Matthew 5:39 on it—
How I wish we could find a Few CEO’s with the Courage of Howard Hughes, should of told them OK we no longer Sell to ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY OR EMPLOYEE. The Feds would back off immediately if they want that product.
Onward christian soldiers, Marching off to war, withe the cross of jesus.
Oh, we don’t want to inflame thos nice muslim radicals. It may make them want to cut our heads off in front of live television.
Oh wait a minute “nevermind”
Then there’s Matthew 5:44
The enemy jihadist occupies the big white house. He is engaged in economic subversion, moral subversion, destruction and marginalization of the once great US of A!
Thus it is our enemies are his friends. And we cant harm them can we?
They can sell the Jesus rifles (suitably modified for civilian use) at a premium now. A GREAT piece of Americana.
Real America, not Trinity United Hate Cult America.
Or Mark 16:17-18. That one’s a little... inconvenient.
That’s a shame.
I suppose the next step will be barring military personnel from going to Chick-Fil-A or In-and-Out burgers, huh?
You know, IF I needed a scope that Trijicon would/could supply, I’d demand the reference be on there.
“If God is for me, who can stand against me?”
Well, at least the Army hierarchy acknowledges that islam is completely incompatible with the Bible.
I am waiting for the idiots to acknowledge this FACT in front of a microphone for all to hear.
Emphasizing political correctness at every opportunity is very important. This is especially true for Americans who are intent on adopting the progressive movement so they can share in the successes enjoyed by other socialist nations.
However, there are many Americans who oppose the socialist agenda. They intend to see to it that America not only survives the fools but to prevail over their folly. Please count me among them and all people who know the true intent of political correctness.
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
Of course, we wouldn't want to "alienate" them?
True.
