Ha. Buy more, I'd have to say! One of the outfits I have been talking to (not the one in today's discussion) is a bigger company that is somewhat vertically integrated and owns the outfit that produces all of McDonald's fries. Farms in six states and I don't remember how many thousands of acres of spuds go to McDonald's, but it is a lot.
I have worked with construction & forestry machinery my whole life and those idustries are suffering as we all know - but the last 15 years of my work has been with John Deere so I have been looking at those dealerships on the Ag. side - and so far they all tell me they are doing better than just about any other business segment in this economy. But everybody has to eat and no matter what there will be people in this country making food.

Glenn slaughters Arianna Huffington...BUT
Just like the last time Glenn said it, this slaughter wasn't a literal one. This time it was referring to the war of words and Glenn's words absolutely slaughtered Arianna's (not literally, Arianna). In perhaps one of the worst points brought up in the history of punditry, Huffington tried to accuse Glenn of inciting violence because he said the word 'slaughtered' in a monologue on the economy. Glenn tears apart (not literally, Arianna) the argument on radio this morning. ( Transcript, Insider Audio).
Joe Klein destroyed by Bill O'Reilly
Just so Media Matters isn't confused, Joe Klein was not actually 'destroyed' by Bill O'Reilly. The two had a conversation and Klein did his best to humiliate himself. He tried to bash Glenn but tossed out accusations so ridiculous it clearly, CLEARLY proved Klein has no brain (yes, literally Joe). ( Transcript, Insider Audio)

Society doesn't value hard work? Noooo
President Obama recently said, without the least bit of irony, that our kids have it tough today because they are growing up in a society that doesn't value hard work. That's a very good point by the president, now if only someone could just get to the bottom of WHY our kids aren't taught values such as self reliance, persistence, hard work and self sacrifice. Quite the mystery! Get the shocking answer in this latest Beck Talks video blog. WATCH!
Sarah Palin calls for Rahmbo to be fired
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin calls on Obamas chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, to be fired for his remarks demeaning to children and families of special needs. This isn't the first gaffe like this - Obama himself was on a late night TV show when he joked that he couldn't even bowl in the Special Olympics. Hilarious (sarcasm, Arianna). Read the full statement from Palin HERE.
ENCORE TONIGHT! If you missed the Simulcast of the Bold & Fresh tour Saturday night, there is yet ANOTHER chance for you to catch this amazing show. Don't miss the ENCORE showing TONIGHT Tuesday, February 2nd at a movie theater near you. Get all the details HERE.
Tonight on TV: Many say China can sink our economy at the drop of a hat - are they right? Don't miss the answer tonight at 5pm only on the Fox News Channel!

I reckon they do have quite a presence in the Quad Cities but more corporate & convention type digs these days.
A lot of the product I have dealt with comes out of Dubuque and Waterloo, but a good portion of the construction stuff these days has been coming out of TN and NC, the assembly locations for their Hitachi Joint Venture products.
