It’s just a matter of time , a significant event in the right spot that ruptures a bunch of stuff loose and all we can do is hang on .. and here they’re building a new Bay Bridge. It’d be cheaper to run more ferries and build the new bridge after the big one hits.
They have money to build a new Bridge?
I hear ya.
I don’t know, the thought of having a pile of rubble to go home to, while not comforting to some , beats having everything blow’d away. It’s a mess anyway ya cut it.
Every good shaker I have been in my initial reflex resembles a deer in the headlights and/or I am on the toilet at the same time.
IOW no matter how prepared we are food/supplies/generator ect...my reaction/reflex at the time of the event is to do the above.
And just about the time I get ready to react the quake is over, then comes the was that the main big one or are there bigger shakes to follow.
Its just a fact for me that in some situations my human nature over powers my years of practicing my faith.
Earthquakes albeit rare up here have that effect.
But your scripture is good in times of fear of the unknown and trusting other humans.

I had to titter at that one.. lol
amazing, huh.
It’s only gonna cost 4 times what it was originally was budgeted for or sumthin’ like that. It should take an 8.0 in stride but still..
Aaahh, I’ve been hearing that since I was little and I wish it would just hit already and get it over with! I’m tired of running for the door jamb in the middle of the night, every time my dogs shake the bed, scratching their ears.
I know. The 1857 was pretty bad, the 1906 really bad.. the 1989 Loma Prieta definitely shook it up.. every 100 and some years major faults go gaga.. we live a few miles from a bunch of faults here in san jose. our dogs are pretty young but both felt the last couple 5.0s near here
New Madrid where?
Thanks for the Ping, Ernest.

The ‘94 was pretty gnarly. I live in the hills and I could stand on my patio and watch the after shocks roll thru the Valley to my house. All you could do was hold on.
Thanks for the Ping, Global2010. That's a pretty big quake.
IS that you, Chris Matthews, watching Obama again? ;)
New Madrid is on the Mississippi River...south of St Louis and North of Mempis...it was BIG !!!!
*I know it's calm down but Glock needed cheering up...
I know ,but it runs through Illinois, was wondering how close to Chicago it was?
Oh and how big?
