A would-be car thief picked the wrong ride to steal - and it cost him his life.
Yaosse Agbokou, 50, was choked to death when ex-Marine Daillard Paris caught him trying to steal his Nissan Altima in Queens Saturday night, police said.
Paris, 28, who is 6-feet-3 and weighs 240 pounds, was questioned by cops. But he was not charged in the death, which the medical examiner ruled a homicide caused by "compression of the neck."

There was recently an incident in Texas where a perp was shot, repeatedly, by the residents of a home he was attempting to enter without a resident. The amusing part was afterward, when the media went looking for the sympathetic female relative (of the type you mention); they got some maternal relative on who stated that she’d always known the perp was a bad seed and apologized to the residents for his actions.
I love Texas.
I do, but I admit I’m prejudiced. ;-) Prayers for this Marine’s future, that no charges are pressed and that he will be very successful at the job he just landed as a financial analyst. What a success story to have to start off with such a traumatic event. Served his country, educated, will begin a good job and some sleaze bag thief tries to bite and hurt him.
This guy was allowed into America and showed his gratitude by becoming a criminal. That wacko name seems Nigerian to me....NY Post said he was from some 3rd world hole called Togo
Agbokou's neighbors said they were shocked to hear that the Togolese immigrant was believed to have been trying to steal a car.
"He's a hardworking guy," said Harold Gennot. "Not a bad guy."
Agbokou was from Togo. I know that’s Africa but would have to look at a map
Some knucklehead named Radley is criticizing the marine for use of force. I wanted to sign up so that I could tell him about a friend at my plant in Detroit who not only had his car hijacked but got shot in the process too. Fortunately he survived but the perp was never found......
Semper Fi, brother (or sister). My father always took the time to correct people who would use “ex” in conjunction with “Marine”.
He’s dead, Jim.
God Bless the Marines!!
Um, I think the comment was about Paris, the former Marine who defended his property ie NOT the perp. (Admittedly made the same mistake myself on the first read-through.)
Galloway: Tell your friend not to get cute down there, the Marines at Gitmo are fanatical.
Lt. Weinberg: Fanatical about what?
Galloway: About being Marines.
Agbokou, you have To go!
Sometimes a picture says it all :)
One of the worst countries on the worst continent on the planet. Their roving government backed death squads are highly regarded.
Seems that Agbokou was bringing all the native social pathologies with him. What a surprise.
The bushmeat grinder is exquisite!
Heart-warming story.

The former marine from his facebook page...
*singing terribly*
“Squeeze me gently, squeeze me do. Squeeze me darling, I love you..”
I love our military, greatest in the world, but why was it necessarry to mention the the guy was a retired marine? What if he had been a retired journalist? let me see; ex-journalist chokes blah blah blah ,... or maybe he might have been a lawyer; ex-lawyer chokes blah blah blah .... See what I mean?
