Pelosi Denies Abortion Funding in Health Care Bill: I Talked With the Bishops

Washington, DC -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi mislead participants last week at the White House health care summit when she said the Senate health care bill doesn't fund abortions. Now, comments from a late Friday press conference are surfacing where Pelosi exploits the Catholic bishops to justify her claim.

Yesterday she said that the abortion and illegal immigration funding provisions will not be removed and are not key to the legislation since it is neither an abortion bill or an immigration bill.

The lying Stalinist witch doesn’t give a damn about what the public thinks and will keep spouting nonsense until the bill is passed.

Well, she wants us to believe that she talked to a live person. WHICH ONE and what was the conversation about?
I’d also like HIS version too!

Kay Hagan’s office just told me abortions aren’t covered except for rape, incest and serious disability to mother or child.
The ataffer actually tried to argue with me when I kept saying “then abortion is funded”. No she kept repeating abortion is not covered except...

Please Lord let Kay be a one termer.

OBAMANOMICS—TRICKLE DOWN DESTRUCTION of the economy

SET THEIR LOCAL AND DC LINES ON FIRE!

PLEASE ASK THEM TO REPEAL THE BIG NEW FEES in TRICARE for Life, the retired Military over 65 secondary health ins. which they passed in a DOD bill. They promised our Military these benefits, and our Military have earned them.

Bambi doesn’t keep his promises...so buyer beware!

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military’s secondary health ins.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

I believe she was referring to the House version, not the Senate one.

Ofcourse, the key issue is over the funding of abortions and so they have to lie about the Senate version not supporting federal funding as well.

Advocates for "the Senate version" try to say the Hyde Amendment takes care of the problem, but that's an absolute evasion. The Hyde Amendment excludes direct funding of abortion via HHS Appropriations Bills, but the Senate version is rife with novel subsidy mechanisms which either do not "mention" abortion, or do not come as part of a HHS appropriation bill. For instance: mandated coverage with mandated insurance premiums; inclusion of reproductive health as part of a "Community Health Center," etc. And of course Kathleen Sebelius gets the power to define what constitutes "reproductive health".

Here's a letter I sent to my newspaper

Dear Editor,

When a healthy man and a healthy woman get together in a healthy way and have a healthy baby, that can reasonably be called "Reproductive Health."

All too often, though, the term "Reproductive Health" is used as a euphemism for a procedure where a healthy woman goes into a medical office carrying a healthy baby, and comes out empty and bleeding, with the baby--- or what's left of it -- coming out in shreds.

If this is "reproductive health," then strip mining mountaintops is Wilderness Health, whale hunting is Oceanic Health, and clubbing and skinning make for a healthier seal pup.

The current Health Reform proposal subsidizes the termination of lives, would injure thousands of victims, and should be defeated. Deadly procedures do not belong in Health Care.
