ObamaCare Side Effect: Regime Change

Rather than a post-partisan olive branch to congressional Republicans and the American public, President Obama's latest health care speech was a declaration of war.

He's more than willing to use a 51-vote reconciliation majority to jam through a roughly $2 trillion health care plan that amounts to a government takeover of nearly one-fifth of the economy.

He's prepared to stick Uncle Sam right in the middle of the age-old relationship between patients and doctors, and doctors and hospitals, all while subjugating the private health care insurance system to the status of a government-run utility — without bending the cost curve downward.

More spending.

More tax hikes on investors, businesses and individuals.

New government boards to control prices, ration care and redistribute income.

The Obama administration is basically taking a giant government leap backward that the country doesn't want to take.

When a conflict exists between the individual's interests and the government's interests, the government's interests will ALWAYS prevail if law gives government authority over the issue. For example, you do not pay taxes because you benefit from paying taxes; you pay taxes because it benefits the government.

If the government is given authority over medical treatment, medical treatment will be given in the interests of the government, not the patient. Hence, we have this quote from President Obama:

“Maybe you’re better off, uh, not having the surgery, but taking the, uh, painkiller.”

For it may serve the government that you be denied the surgery, and instead just be given the, uh, painkiller (especially if you are old and getting social security instead of paying taxes).

There will be no reconciliation.

Because, if the House passes the Senate approved bill...

it will become a bill approved by both houses of congress and...

it immediately goes to Obama for signature into law.

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

The cause is well known and it is just. When the alleged leader of a democratic republic places his own wishes so above those of the complete body politic, he is no longer worthy of the title, leader, no matter what office he might occupy.

Only a fool with no clear appreciation of, or for, America past and present, would dare undertake what this pustule in the White House is attempting to do. It is contingent upon the Republican Party to undertake every step, every maneuver it can to bring this government to a halt.

Currently it looks like a no, but we have seen that outrageous deals are not un-common. I mean didn't one of the fence sitting demonrats just have a relative appointed to a judgeship? Not to mention the Louisiana Purchase and the Cornhusker Kickback, and God only knows what deals did not come to light. Let's face it, the Republicans are not always the best and anyone is susceptible to temptaion... but at least the Republicans steal with capitalism in mind, not communism! So, if we must have thieving bastards as politicians... I'll take the Capitalists.

A good article with several good point, but Kudlow is behind the curve. There won’t be any need to use senate reconciliation as the action is in the House passing the senate bill.

I totally agree. Communism killed more people, destroyed more countries, and enslaved more humans to the dictatorship of the state than any other evil in the history of mankind. For example more than 100 million people were killed by the communists in the former Soviet Union and Red China directly as mass murdering or by evil communist economic plans that starved to death tens of millions of people.

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.
