CBO: Health Bill Would Force Families to Buy Insurance Costing a Minimum of $12,000 Per Year

(CNSNews.com) – If Congress passes the Senate health-care plan, according to an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office, American families will be required by federal law to buy a federally approved health insurance plan that will cost a minimum of $12,000 per year--and, on average, will cost $15,000 per year -- whether their employer or the government helps them with the premium or not.

Beginning in 2014, the Senate plan would require all individuals to buy health insurance. Anyone who does not obtain insurance through an employer would be forced to buy it out of their own pocket. Families of four that make up to 400 percent of poverty level--currently $88,200 per year--would receive a subsidy from the government to help pay for their premiums. That subsidy would attenuate as their income increased and would disappear when their income reached the 400 percent of poverty level.

In 4 years I’ll be on Social Security and will happily listen to the whining of the RATS who’ll be hounded by the IRS to get health care.
- - - - - -
Don’t worry. They will attack the Medicare insolvency next by doing away with it and putting everyone under the same system. Of course the retired will get a retirement subsidy, enough so that combined with your social security you will be able to pay for your health care.

Obama is saying that people are going bankrupt because of healthcare insurance. NOT! Some are going bankrupt because of a medical catastrophe, but now paying $1000 a month for insurance will cause most of us to go bankrupt. That will cause a major loss of freedom in this house.

There is going to come a point when enough is enough and the bullet box is going to overtake the ballot box.

If they can pull off this Unconstitutional Nightmare, they can pull off anything.

The irony is most people don't have a clue what's going on. I talked to three people at work today who were surprised at what I told them about this.

People will only wake up when the “benefits” of this Legislation personally affect them.

By then it will be too late.

No, we don’t! Nor do multi-millions of other Americans. We’ve already had so many increases in taxes fees and prices, and decreases in income, we have had to cut to bare bones. NO ONE can afford this crap. Not to mention anyone who works in the medical field must fear for their jobs. Doctors will be quitting, hospitals have been told to cut costs or close. That domino will fall if this thing passes. It is pure evil.

This really sucks. My wife retired before I did and has a better insurance plan and it was much cheaper than one I could get. So, we took it.

Now, this crap comes along and will put us so far in the hole, I will have to go back to work to make the CBO's estimated annual premiums.

Meanwhile our community has a seasonal unemployment rate of 23% mostly migrant hispanics and guess what? They will get theirs for free.

I called my congressman Raul Grijalva and he is still laughing at me for thinking this is wrong.

Yes, there is that revenge. BUT if you collect SS, you have to use medicare as your primary medical insurance, whether or not you have medical insurance as part of your retirement package. Which means, you cannot go to a doctor who does not take medicare. It will effect all of us, not just the rats.

I have a few Air Force retirees asking me if I know how Tricare for Life will be affected. I know I have read some stuff here on FR. If anyone has that info handy, I would appreciate receiving it. Calling it a night, but I will search FR tomorrow. Thanks all.

If you make a 1,000.00 - $12K a year than the premiums will be paid for by anyone who makes over 88K a year or over 400% of the poverty line so it depends on where you live I guess.

"$12,000 a year means that either my husband or I will have to get another job in addition to my factory job and his farming."

Most people will need to get second jobs to come up with the $12000. And there will not be enough jobs to meet that demand. So the IRS will put liens on our property. They may be nice enough to let us continue living in our homes but once we die those homes and businesses will become property of the Federal government.

Game, Set, and Match. Socialists win and Americans lose - everything!

That’s the big story most miss on this. It’s the big lie here. Insurance does not guarantee health, never mind care! It gives you nothing.

I'll still have The V.A. but can you imagine the unrest when the Boomers lose S/S? There will be unrest!

There goes fun times with the family.

Get creative! Get with the program! Think of all the fun things you can do sharing hours together, waiting in line for your family's health care. Hopscotch, skateboard, tiddlywinks, fry an egg on the pavement! The possibilities are endless.

What about those like my wife and I who are already working two jobs to put our kids through college? There just are not any more hours in the week left to try and take on a third job.

OK let me give you a couple of examples.

1. Current income is not necessarily predictive of past income. A couple could be living on the husband’s 80 K income now while the wife stays home with young children. There could have been years before when she worked too and they stashed away a good portion of her salary and invested wisely.

2. Inherited money.

3. Well timed purchase of Berkshire Hathaway stock and brains enough to avoid Jim Cramer’s advice

4. An ability to be frugal in ways that you and I cant imagine. Years ago I read about a woman who made her kids Halloween masks out of dryer lint.

The Democrats are hell bent on destroying the middle class. Those effete elite snobs could never stand the way people were able to become new rich in this country. If they succeed it won’t happen anymore.

They trying to create two classes: ruling and working.

FICA: 88,200 x 7.65% = 6747
Federal Income Tax: 68,200 x 25% (figuring deductions of 20K) = 17,050
State Income Tax in a “cheap” state: 68,200 x 5% = 3,410
Obamacare premium for family: 15,000
Total burden on a middle class family: 42,207

Leaving $3,833 per month to pay the mortgage, buy the groceries, save for retirement, save for college, pay the utilities, buy clothing for the kids, buy a car, etc.

Middle class livin’ large in Obamaland.
