Reconciliation is legal. However, there are a few elements in the House Recon Bill that don’t pass muster per the Byrd Rule for Recon so stay tuned. Rush is correct, however. Recon is a smokescreen. The Dems want to put a bill on Obama’s desk for signing into law. Then with great fanfare, they will declare victory.

I worked for four months at a hospital system in Louisiana. They were lamenting the fact that while Medicaid/Medicare payments were about 25% of what they had been, they could not drop it due to other Federal funding they had taken to help rebuild the area after the man-made disaster of Katrina. (Levy scams were the big problem. Even some criticism has stuck to the Army Corps of Engineers)
On another note: Al Gore, on his website, flags this passage in Mitt Romney’s recent book No Apology: “I believe that climate change is occurring — the reduction in the size of global ice caps is hard to ignore. I also believe that human activity is a contributing factor.”

Only eight days earlier, the United States Supreme Court had unanimously decided the closely related case of Bush v. Palm Beach County Canvassing Board, 531 U.S. 70 (2000), and only three days earlier, had preliminarily halted the recount that was occurring in Florida.
In a per curiam decision, the Court in Bush v. Gore ruled that the Florida Supreme Court’s method for recounting ballots was a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The Court also ruled that no alternative method could be established within the time limits set by the State of Florida.

Bingo! I knew this was all a big smokescreen, just didn’t know what was behind it. Rush just explained it: the only thing the evil ones want is to have 2 identical bills “passed” by both houses to present to the head evil one. All of these charades in the house are just stunts and maneuvers to get the house to “pass” the senate bill. once the head evil one in each house “certify” passage, the head evil one will sign. that was the plan all along.
