One Thing That's 100% Guaranteed: The Healthcare Bill Will NEVER Be Repealed

Joe Weisenthal

Already Republicans plan on introducing a bill this week to repeal last night's historic healthcare vote.

Obviously that's going nowhere.

But looking out, Republicans will probably try to run on repeal in the runup until November. It's possible that will play okay at the ballot (we don't know) but anyone who thinks this is a realistic prospect is smoking something illegal.

First of all, to repeal the vote would be just as difficult legislatively as passing healthcare was, so just think of how hard that was. Republicans would need 60 pro-repeal votes in the Senate to defeat a Democratic filibuster. And remember, they'd need a President who wouldn't veto the bill (i.e. not Obama or any Democrat).

But even that's putting too fine a point on it. Here's the real story, and it gets down to the fact that this new bureaucratic superstructure is now permanently ossified into our federal government.

I don’t want to depress anyone with the facts of life, but avoidance of them only adds to the delusion. How can anyone fight what they don’t admit?

Have you forgotten where you are? All we do is confront and discuss the nation's ills on this website. There's more terrifying news per square inch on FR than anyplace I know of. Don't tell me people around here won't "admit" to what they're seeing.

The point I'm trying to drive home to you, is that you're moping around on the floor in all of our troubles, instead of showing some fight, and resolving to do something about it.

Comments like, "it's hopeless", "it's all over", "America is finished", etc., do nothing except demoralize the troops, and show everyone who's watching that the person making such comments has either surrendered, or is actively working for the enemy.

If you're in the former camp, perhaps FR is too depressing and scary a place for you. Perhaps you need to go fishing, or read some good books for a while. Withdraw from the fight, if you have no stomach for it.

If you're in the latter camp (which I don't believe you are) then you'll be outed eventually, and dispatched by the mods.

We're in a war for our very survival as a nation, my friend. If you can't withhold your defeatist comments, I suggest you learn to live with the brickbats that will come your way.

If the GOP wins the Presidency in 2012 and has majorities, they can repeal it. They don’t need huge majorities with a Republican president, they can ram it through with rule changes like the Dems just did.

I didn’t realize that the terms of service required rosy scenarios that posters don’t believe in. Just a cursory check of my past posts shows consistent hatred for the socialist hell that has been wreaked on this country.

People metaphorcally have two competing visions about future America: 1. confidence in the ability to reform a heroin addict who sells herself for a living, via an intervention and heavy maintenance; or 2. the realization that most likely outcome is more of the same, with eventual tragedy.

I’m not trying to dissuade any pollyannas about the impending bankruptcy of this country. I simply think it is vital to be faithful to the facts of the situation.

I take it from your reply that you're committed to continuing to post messages of failure, hopelessness, and doom to this community, and have no intention whatsoever of ever expressing any slightest hint of support for those who are determined to resist this tyrannical government.

So, if you're convinced that America is beyond redemption, and that there is no possible solution, nor any way for the people to effectively win the fight against the forces we're up against, then what do you propose to do with what remains of your dismal future?

What do you propose that the patriotic people of America do in response to this insoluble situation?

And don't tell me that you have no solution, or are unwilling to advise your fellow citizens. You've taken an apocalyptic stance, and I want to know how you plan to conduct yourself from this day forward, given that brutal reality, which you believe without reservation.

The Republicans don’t want to. They are part of the government, so they are just fine with it. It’s just an issue to run on.

INDEED. SIGH.

1970 - Between Two Ages: America's Role in the Technetronic Era by Zbigniew Brzezinski is published. He is a CFR member who will become the first director of the Trilateral Commission and President Carter's national security advisor. In this book he states: "Marxism represents a further vital and creative stage in the maturing of man's universal vision. Marxism is simultaneously a victory of the external, active man over the inner, passive man and a victory of reason over belief.....Human beings become increasingly manipulable and malleable...

Today we are again witnessing the emergence of transnational elites....whose ties cut across national boundaries....The nation-state is gradually yielding its sovereignty....Further progress will require greater American sacrifices. More intensive efforts to shape a new world monetary structure will have to be undertaken.”

President Bush (SR) quotes on new world order and United nations:

"Time and again in this century, the political map of the world was transformed. And in each instance, a new world order came about through the advent of a new tyrant or the outbreak of a bloody global war, or its end." Feb 28, 1990---this quote is six months before Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in August.

"Out of these troubled times, our fifth objective--a new world order--can emerge...... We are now in sight of a United Nations that performs as envisioned by its founders." --Sep 11 1990

THANKS for your kind reply.

Great new tagline.

imho . . .

God is making an object lesson of men who put faith in man to do anything lastingly good on his own.

The import of the lesson is

GOD AND GOD ALONE IS GOOD, ALTOGETHER GOOD; GOOD ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME--GOOD; HOLY, RIGHTEOUS, PURE, . . .

That man . . . on his own; left to his own; devoted to his own schemes and values will always--this side of eternity--as mortal sin-polluted man--will always produce death and destruction.

That even the most wonderful form of government ever devised--APART FROM GOD--WILL END IN TYRANNY--AS THE GLOBALISTS ARE CURRENTLY VIVIDLY DEMONSTRATING WITH INCREASING RUTHLESSNESS.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

May God have mercy on all who Love Him in looming traumas.

.

1996 - May 11 Journalist Joan Veon interviews David C. Korten, author of When Corporations Rule the World (1995) and former Ford Foundation project specialist in Manila. In this interview, Korten claims that: "the World Trade Organization is creating a world government in which one organization which is totally unelected, wholly secretive....with the power to virtually override any local or national laws if those in any way inconvenience global corporations....It was a terrible shock (to those of us who supported Bill Clinton) when Clinton came in and GATT and NAFTA became the centerpieces of his policy....And in a sense, there was almost a seamless transition from President Bush to President Clinton in that regard....Our democracy has been rendered meaningless by big money. The truth is there are politicians (who) are owned lock, stock and barrel by the big money interests....Our elections create, to some extent, a facade of choice."
