EDITORIAL: Obamacare's subsidy for the sexually depraved

THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Senate Democrats voted almost unanimously Wednesday night to ensure the right of rapists and child molesters to have guaranteed access to government-subsidized Viagra under the president's health care plan. Only Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana broke ranks with his Democratic colleagues.

Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, put the Senate's majority party on the spot by offering an amendment denying convicted sex offenders coverage for erectile-dysfunction medications. Dr. Coburn's proposal would also have prohibited health care exchanges from offering any coverage of elective-abortion drugs like RU-486 at taxpayer expense.

According to Senate Democrats, however, the drugs themselves were never the issue. Party leaders insisted subsidized Viagra would have to be provided to sex offenders because any changes to the reconciliation bill would have required the House to vote once again on health care legislation. Apparently, saving the House from an embarrassing vote was more important than protecting the public from chemically empowered predators.

This justification is nonsense. When the Senate makes any change to a bill, no matter how small, it must be sent back to the House for another vote. In this case, it had been clear for some time that the reconciliation bill would have to be changed. The Senate parliamentarian ruled that at least two provisions of the health care plan had to be stripped out to avoid parliamentary challenge. The Senate took up these changes yesterday, requiring the House to take the vote that was supposed to have been avoided at all cost. That means the original excuse given for defeating Dr. Coburn's amendment simply does not hold up.

See, this is the kind of social issue the Republicans need to use to show the general population, often. Abortion and the war do not move people from the left or the middle anymore, not in terms of shifting voters from long-standing positions. This issue was a surprise--no one was sitting around wondering about prisoners and Viagra--but it connects with people on a gut level--"You wanna give rapists drugs that will give them erections?"

Its value is in it being an illustration of a philosophy. You can yell that the democrats follow Saul Alinsky, that Marxism is alive and well, and so on and so forth, but you gotta understand, that stuff is important to US but not to those voters it is necessary to swing to our side. THIS people can grasp instantly.

Obama is great. Now the whole fed. gov. is PROVEN to follow suicidal orders without any thought and without any challenge, and the courts refuse to address doubts about the orders coming from this imposture at large. So, while there is no confirmation, we do not have to follow any further order... and any investigation done against the opposition is null and void and not to be cooperated with, until it all goes underground and seceded from the controling state.

That’s the bottom line. So all the whores of the Whorocratic party which thinks it is so confident the Hollywood whorocracy will always be popular, the gauntlet and dare is thrown down: blinds leading the blinds to a cliff, Zero has helped us.

There is no need to campaing Palin or the GOP to the plank, as it would only be covering the Feds’ arse.

I am sure an executive order is again going to be called for, like everything else, the executive branch runs our legislative branch. — Hell, Harry cannot even vote correctly. The doddering old fool needs to leave congress.

Its sickening to watch right now, but we have to take the long view. November is around the corner. Then REAL change can happen.

I think this is another case of “in your face, we won and we’ll do what we want to, and you can’t do a thing about it.” They want to push us, nudge us to fuel our rage against their tyrannical moves by rising up against them, and they can then “round us up, the dangerous terrorists that we are.”

Ain’t gonna work, socialists. We’re on to ya’. What other tricks can you dogs do?

For their own self-preservation, the RNC better pull the pin.

What am I saying? To heck with the RNC. For the preservation of our country itself, the RNC better pull the pin!

As well as the fact the rats had to have their abortion funding subsidized, It should be obvious to everyone that we are being ruled by the most immoral, evil people to ever walk the earth in modern times....They are embarrassments and national disgrace. Not only does he have a sense of humor, but, he has smarts too. He knew they would defeat this amendment, and, it gave the Republicans more ammunition for the upcoming elections.

Smart like a fox, I say. I laughed myself silly over this amendment because I knew what Sen. Coburn was doing and that it would be defeated.

Sure hope some Republicans have the stones to use this in their campaign ads.
