...To those calling for a civil war, this Marine wants you to stop, and think...

It's been said that the military is always preparing for war. That is true. We prepare for combat every day. We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come.

The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in.

Before I get into the main premise of this article - I need to make two statements here.

First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why - I don't give a @!$%#. It doesn't change the action. In life we're judged by our actions, nothing more, nothing less. One of the greatest things of the military is when it comes to an enemy, the politics behind the situation - don't matter in accomplishing that mission. For the military , life is simple in that regard.

Secondly, Regardless of your political ideology, you've earned the right as US Citizens to say your piece - no matter how wrong it may be. That is your right, and I will give my life to protect it.

I didn’t read it all. I just a couple of reasons in and was going.....”is he threatening us???? and I stopped reading. He’s woefully uninformed. We are not a democracy, or should not be. That we are functioning as one is a BIG problem with our country today.
And I don’t have to go to the recruiting office to see what a Marine can do, I KNOW a Marine can take me down.
But we’re not calling for a civil war, although if we were, a takeover by Marxists does seem to be reason enough to do so! It’s not Conservatives that need to be spoken to, it’s those damned insane liberals.

An air force guy in my self defense class he would not hesitate to fire on civilians if ordered to do so.

****************

There will always be some. The principal source of manpower for the coming leftist putsch will be deputized gangs.

Some “youth” program, allegedly to provide job training and social structure to “inner city, underprivileged troubled youths” with what Colin Powell calls “urban values”, will be the recruitment vehicle to mobilize the ‘Civilian Defense Force’ BO babbled about.

They will be long on viciousness and terror, and short on discipline and skill. They will not have a clue about logisitics or basic hygiene. Nevertheless, they will be the principal muscle for the leftist putsch.

For those of you who have been insisting that the military won’t fire on us here’s a different perspective.

“One of the greatest things of the military is when it comes to an enemy, the politics behind the situation - don’t matter in accomplishing that mission. For the military , life is simple in that regard.”

This marine will think that you are the enemy if told so by his superiors. Evidently, it won’t matter one iota if the great zero uses the Constitution for buttwipe. All he has to do is point the finger at us and say “go get ‘em”, and that Marine and probably the whole corps will do so.

Actually according to Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton,The Constitution was intended to be scrapped and re-written every generation (19 years back then) .

So if we’re going to go by ‘the founding father’s principles and ideals concerning the constitution’ then I would say not only is it a living document, we have been derelict in our duties to treat it as such.

In his terms he would "frag" people in any state because of his oath to the Constitution.

He refers to "frag order" which is short for "fragmentary order," a preliminary, incomplete order. He's not talking about "fragging" as in killing someone.

I don’t believe this was written by an active duty Marine, PERIOD.

Agreed completely. This reads more like some idiot's version of what he thinks it's like to be a Marine. I was not a Marine - I was Army, but you would have been hard put, when I was in, to find a soldier who would say that he would follow orders to kill US civilians without question. This guy's letter reads like some government goon who is threatening the sheep to stay in line. I am confident that the vast majority of our military are as keenly aware of Obama's violating of the Constitution as the rest of us are, and are already trying to figure out where they stand on the matter.

Now I 'd like to disperse a myth here - many of you think that US military would not fight civilians. I can't speak for all, but in my case - the moment you declare civil war, you're no longer civilians. The moment you attack the constitution, you're now enemies of that constitution.

Three points:

1) The Obama backers are attempting to drive out those in the military that would refuse to fire on civilians. So this may very well be accurate, they would fire on us.

2)The so called health bill provides for a private army of the president, appointed by the president. I'm sure it will do anything real patriots in our armed forces wouldn't.

3) If this member of the military was serious about defending the Constitution, we would be in the midst of a military coup right now. WE are fighting against the enemies of the Constitution, the military SHOULD be supporting US.

Actually four points: Some of us may be willing to die fighting for our freedom rather than be slaves to totalitarians. Better dead than Red.

The point of this piece seems to be telling us that we will die if we don't submit to dictators. Well, pal, we will die if we do submit.
We can hang separately or we can hang together. But these bastards are coming for us either way, the only thing we have control over is how we respond when they do.

“When there is a question of who is violating the constitution, there is a big question as to what the troops will do.”
The average private, corporal, buck sergeant is a public school graduate and knows dick about the Constitution. He will do what he’s told to do. If he has any doubts, they will disappear the first time someone wings a round in his direction.

I’m 58 and couldn’t run 50 feet without damned near keeling over.

Oh, come on. I'm 55 and just started running. Can't get close to a whole lap yet but am trying to keep up with my Young Marine age 9.

Provocative conclusions from a ALLEGED serving Marine.

I'm a former Marine, and I say that, at some point, at some time, as Judge Napolitano quoted the founders words, it is the right and DUTY of free American citizens to overthrow their government.

And Thomas Jefferson spoke of the "tree of liberty".

Mock, ignore, and trash the lwas and traditions of our country, and, at some point, the American people will rise up.

I would hope that MOST of the members of my military would ignore illegal and unconstitutional orders from colin powell-like superiors who are far more interested in kissing-ass to the top, than they are in protecting and defending the constitution.

Perhaps, a Honduran-style ass-whooping on all those that would, and ARE ACTUALLY (not in this supposed "Marine's" fantasy-land) usurping the Constitution.

In that case, it was the Honduran military that was ordered by ther legislative and judicial branches to arrest the Socialist usurper, and exile him from the country.

It was not, as the socialist Hussein and his comrades tried to say it was - a military coup.

The civilian leader next in line, took charge, not a military dictator.

of course, here, we'd have to dig DEEP, past the nutcase biden's, pelosi's, and their ilk, to find a leader worthy of leading the greatest country on earth.

First off, I have serious doubts about the authenticity of the marine status claimed. It does not matter to me anyway. When push comes to shove, we will do what has to be done for the preservation of this Republic and ourselves. This proclamation works both ways. Americans have the freedom gene born in them and the communist Obama administration should enjoy their high living at the taxpayers expense while they can. We will vote the lot of them into oblivion in 2012. This guy has more to worry about than turning his weapons on his fellow citizens. Obama and comrades intend to downsize the military at the first opportunity and then he will have plenty of time to rethink the wisdom or practicality of his position. Live free or die.

What is even more scary than the phony “Marine” article are the comments that follow it. That site was the perfect place to post that sort of agitprop because no one there can see through the bullshit at all.

I believe you are correct. Furthermore, with the current state of the economy, more and more people are in the military to have steady employment rather than reasons of patriotism. They'll do what their officers tell them to do and their officers will do what they're ordered to do.

It's unfortunate that so many posts on this thread have delved into speculating whether or not the author is really a Marine. It matters little. Whoever wrote it, Marine or not, presents some very valid and frightening points and these points really ought to be the subject of discussion.

This guy has just declared that he'd fight on the side of an un-Constitutional government and fire on American civilians.

He may still be wearing the uniform but he's no longer a Marine in my eyes.

F*** him.
