Hi! I am Congressman Alan Grayson. It has been suggested that I change my name to Richard Cranium. I like the idea. That is a cool sounding name.

Fox and Friends just had an interview with the Florida doctor who put a sign on his door that if you support Obama's health plan, you can go somewhere else. He mentioned Grayson and said that his accusations against Republicans is coming true, just it is the Dems who are fulfilling it. He said that in 2012, Medicare will no longer cover Hospice services for the terminally ill. This will be devastating for those families. Think what it will do to the hospice industry and those that work in care giving.

I am the first to realize that cuts have to be made and there will all be tough choices. But, after seeing how Obama cowtailed to the auto workers unions, it is so glaringly uneven and unfair!

Just watched Fox & Friends interview this doctor. He called Alan Grayson “a fool” and said the sign is still up on his door and he has no intention of backing down.

He said that a copy of the “time-line” fliers he provides for his patients in his waiting room are available for printing out at his web site.

Local radio talk-show host, Bud Hedinger, will be interviewing this doctor live in a few minutes from now on his show.

Doctor who posted controversial sign a victim of intolerance
Jerome Darnell
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/04/doctor_who_posted_controversia.html

Dr. Jack Cassel, the urologist from Florida who recently made headlines with a controversial sign on his office, is under attack in more ways than one.

Because he apparently still has some semblance of legal right to display the sign, the more devious objectors have gone after his reputation.

Healthgrades.com, a website where health providers are rated (anonymously, of course), has seen a recent flurry of activity.

Cassel has gone from a “Good” rating to a “Poor” rating in a miraculously short amount of time. No doubt his 365 ratings (at the time of writing this article) have something to do with it.

Does that number seem unusual to you? Let’s compare.

Another Urologist (listed by the website under “), Dr. John D Thompson, of Taveres, has...1 rating. Dr. James Young, of Eustis (again, suggested by the site), has 2. You will be hard-pressed, in fact, to find any doctor with more than a handful of ratings on the site.

That goes double for a small-town practice in Mount Dora. Don’t expect bigger numbers from other doctors, though: Doctor Rupert Curry, Orlando-based cardiologist of Best Doctors 2008, with the Florida Heart Group (with a patient volume of “100 per day”) has yet to receive a single rating.

Now considering that, before this incident, Dr. Cassel had merely a handful of ratings, what can we deduce?

Even if Cassel were turning people away for their political beliefs (which he has repeatedly stated that he is not), there are anonymous hordes willing to falsify a survey to sully the reputation of a man they never knew...and they justify it on political beliefs.

These people practice the intolerance they claim to hate.

A spokesman for Rep. Alan Grayson, who angered Republicans last year when he said they wanted sick Americans to "die quickly," told FoxNews.com that Florida Democrat is helping a constituent who was affected by the sign to file a complaint next week with the proper authorities.

How was this asshat's constituent "affected by the sign"? Anybody who was "affected by the sign" is obviously too weak-minded to be successfully functioning in society and needs to be institutionalized for the greater good. And the democrat party - rather than the taxpayers - should pick up the tab.

from the article:
"Because there is no statute, there would be no grounds for a complaint," spokeswoman Eulinda Smith said. "It would be legally deficient."

But Grayson appears undeterred, arguing the Cassell has violated the Hippocratic Oath when he turned away patients on the basis of political beliefs.

So typical of dems, Grayson is undeterred by the fact that his complaint is LEGALLY DEFICIENT; he is determined to harass this doctor who had the audacity to exercise his free speech rights.

They haven’t found anyone that was “turned away because of political beliefs”.

It won’t happen.

Some will turn THEMSELVES away.

I seriously wouldn’t want to give a doctor that supported 0bama any of my income,
so I can imagine some on the other side feeling the same way.

His (Grayson's) spokesman, Jurkowski, told FoxNews.com that at least one person followed the instructions on the sign and there could have been more.

"I think a reasonable person would deemed that being turned away," Jurkowski said.

A University of Florida professor said Cassell is walking a thin line between free speech and professional obligation. William Allen, a specialist in bioethics, law and medical professionalism, said civil rights protections can prevent patient discrimination. But the law only provides for race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and disability -- not political opinion.

Actually, Mr Jurkoffsky, a REASONABLE person would interpret that anybody who TURNED HIMSELF OR HERSELF AWAY upon seeing the sign was simply freely making a market decision regarding where to seek medical treatment. Apparently you have a problem with freedom.

It could be the difference of how the left and right define “power”.

Power, rightly, is defined as the ability to limit others’ choices.

Power, “leftly”, is defined as the effect of influencing someone’s choices.
