Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Muslims are specifically granted an exemption.

...

This is Dhimmitude.

Relax, I don't think that this will turn out so badly. Unintended consequences and all that.

For example, I wonder how it is, EXACTLY, that they are going to enforce this provision?

First off, I believe it to be unconstitutional. But let's say that it is, just for the fun of it. The next problem is: Who is a Moslem? Who defines the term? How can they say, "No, you're not" - i.e. what does a Moslem person have to do to prove that he/she is eligible? It can't be whether you belong to a mosque or not - many people don't attend church or synogogue, but they are still Christians and Jews.

How are they going to stop people from calling themselves a new branch of Islam? I can see people starting up a new branch of Islam (in addition to Sunni & Shiite) - perhaps it can be called "Screwbamaism" or "The House of the Unholy Kenyan" and its major tenants will be mentioning the name of Mohammed, followed by protracted cursing and/or spitting, followed by a service that very, very closely resembles either some form of Christianity or some form of Judaism. It would certainly be a very unique and distinct form of Islam. :>)

From both the legal and political points of view, it is going to be very entertaining to see how this all plays out.

So the only ones to be effected will be those who think loaning the goobermint their money for a year for FREE is a good financial plan.

Just claim 15 exempts on your W-4.:

Actually you want to claim fewer exemptions and owe money to them at the end of the year. That way they won't be able to keep your refund, since yo won't have one! The more exemptions the more money they can keep.

Two can play this game if states seize federal receipts.

“Two can play this game if states seize federal receipts.”

####

Game On when/if that happens.

And all talk and lawsuits aside, that will be the only way the states will be able to resist this historically unprecedented federal onslaught.

Money is where the rubber meets the road.

Yes, you are correct, I don’t know what I was thinking of. The more dependents, the less with holding. I have paid taxes for a few years myself, the first year was 1956, when I was 14 years old and worked all summer for a contractor. Didn’t actually have to pay anything but was I mad at what they took out of my check!

Me either. All day I kept seeing that picture in my mind and it creeped me out. There is something thoroughly bizarre about the Zero's smirky countenance in that pic. It's like he just ordered a hit on someone. Then I realized he did, but it wasn't ‘someone’ it was all of America.

My worst fear is to die without owing the ORS as much as possible.

Simple solution. Make sure that your employer withholds as little as possible and then pay only what you owe.

Same here. I just mailed these a-holes a check. My homo tax attorney who kept on harping about Obama’s $400 earned income credit forgot to tell me about the health insurance shakedown.

There goes the Leftist argument that they are not requiring people to purchase something in order to be legal.

The refund belongs to the taxpayer who overpaid. It does not belong to the IRS or the government.

If the IRS or government wants that money, they must take the taxpayer to court.

IF THEY DO NOT AND THEY SIMPLY KEEP THE TAXPAYER’S REFUND, IT IS A VIOLATION OF DUE PROCESS.

Isn’t this the kind of thing that led to the original tea party in Boston in 1773?
