Why We Will Not Recover Quickly
Vanity | Today | JessDuntno

Posted on 04/20/2010 12:42:35 PM PDT by jessduntno

I hocked everything - EVERYTHING - and started a business in the mid 90's, one that was "recession proof" and that I could build for my family and retirment years pass to my sons.

In the 90's, as you all know, we watched the steady increase of the "state" under the DEMOCRAT administration (including the growth of the GRE's like Fannie AND Freddie and the death blow of the CRA) and then the REPUBLICAN Party in the 2000's, we are now watching as the socialist DEMOCRAT PARTY Triples down on the insanity of Federal Usurpation...they get bigger and we get smaller. I welcome you to verify the numbers from my industries "bible" on manufacturing assembly products. Our business is circling the drain and I don't think it will ever be the dream I had. It might provide a meager income, but we will see.

In 1990, 21 states had more manufacturing jobs than government jobs. In 2000, 14 states did.

In 2010, not ONE state had more manufacturing jobs than government jobs. NOT ONE.

In January 1990, the ratio of manufacturing jobs to government jobs was 132 percent in Michigan, 138 percent in Pennsylvania, 146 percent in Ohio, and 175 percent in North Carolina. In January 2010, those ratios were 72 percent, 73 percent, 78 percent and 59 percent, respectively.

For the United States as a whole, the ratio of manufacturing jobs to government jobs was 98 percent in January 1990. Twenty years later, that ratio stands at just 51 percent.

Government jobs outnumber manufacturing jobs by a 2-to-1 margin. - Stats from Assembly Magazine

We're turning Japanese. Jobless recovery, my arse. The jobs will be in Gumint and we will go sideways FOR YEARS if we don't crash and burn sooner.

STFU - Stop the Federal USURPATION.

Federal usurpation of individual state rights continues to erode and to limit the ability of state governments to operate according to their own citizen's directives. Since, as the original intent of the Constitution directed, the best government is one which governs closer to the people and Federal Usurpation is the greatest threat we face today, it is time to tell Washington to STFU.

There can be no recovery in the present anti-economy atmosphere of tax and borrow and spend

“There can be no recovery in the present anti-economy atmosphere of tax and borrow and spend”

My biggest fear is that once a culture of building products is gone, it is usually gone for good.

The percentages are interesting, but it would be even more informative if the raw numbers were indicated.

Is the change in ration due primarily to increasing govt jobs or the loss of manufacturing jobs?

For me, it is not a fear, it is an expectation. The good news is that the phoenix can rise from the ashes. Bad news is that you gotta have ashes first.

Rome wasn’t destroyed in a day... it took hard work.

Obama is working around the clock to take everything you have and give it to his followers.

Reparations will be paid, for generations to come. This jerk is only starting... it will get much worse. I just hope there is enough left to turn it all around when the bastards are finally gone. I have my doubts.

Nothing is recession proof, and nothing is ever guaranteed.

What did you think was a “recession proof” business?”

Assembly of virtually any product...it requires equipment we sell - boomed in the past ten years and disappeared in the last two. All those millions of jobs lost? They were the guys and gals that used our stuff.

I would say that the entertainment business is recession proof. Even those “poor” who so desperately need rescuing with our tax dollars can somehow find the money to watch movies and go shopping.

We will not recover at all (save an all-out revolution) — too much damage has already been done.
