Obama criticizes Arizona immigration law (Obama regime refuses to enforce the law)
LA Times ^ | 4/28/2010 | staff

President Obama on Wednesday dismissed Arizona's tough new anti-immigration law as a "shortcut'' that will merely inflame the immigration debate "instead of solving the problem.''

In an impromptu session in the back of his plane with reporters, Obama described the Arizona law as a product of "people's frustrations about the border.''

Though the president sympathized in part, saying we now have "hundreds of thousands of people coming in'' who are "not playing by the rules,'' he said Arizona has chosen the wrong approach.

The law, signed last week by Gov. Jan Brewer, makes it a state crime to be in Arizona illegally and requires police to check suspects for immigration paperwork. It also bars people from soliciting work or hiring day laborers off the street.

"What I think is a mistake is when we start having local law enforcement officials empowered to stop people on the suspicion that they may be undocumented workers …'' the president said. Such hard-line remedies are an affront to the nation's values, he said.

Asked if his Administration might try to mitigate the Arizona law in some way, Obama said: "We're examining it now.''

Well then Mr. President, Commander in Chief, what is the RIGHT approach if AZ has it so wrong?

He thinks giving 20 million illegals amnesty is the answer. All this talk about getting in back of the line is just political talk about giving amnesty.

“He’s a limp wristed little girly boy...”

I crack up every time I see the zer0 exiting Air Force One as he bounces down the ramp with his cute little paws held so delicately in front of him making some kind of little bunny rabbit impersonation. What’s up with that?

Someone should tell him how gay he looks when he does that.....unless.....well...you know?

"What I think is a mistake is when we start having local law enforcement officials empowered to stop people on the suspicion that they may be undocumented workers …''

Show me in the law where this is. Here's the bill. It calls for police to check someone's immigration status if they have stopped them for some other reason and then develop a reasonable suspicion that they may be illegal aliens. It does not authorize the police to stop someone solely on the suspicion that they are illegal aliens, and forbids them from basing that suspicion purely on the basis of race or skin color.

The President is either ill-advised or lying.

True, true.

Hopefully the implication that the laws will start to be enforced will help many of those here legally return to their country of origin on their own.

There have to be hundreds, if not thousands, of businesses sweating bullets right now that know they are harboring illegal employees. And they should be nervous. People forget it is illegal to do things like this. The time where it’s openly tolerated is going to end sooner or later..

Rush is hinting the reason the Dems are infuriated and upset over this is that it will cut into their voter fraud, if people start being required to be “legal”.

If everyone who was dead or illegal stopped voting, the Dems would lose a lot of elections.

The Phony Obummer said stupidly: "What I think is a mistake is when we start having local law enforcement officials empowered to stop people on the suspicion that they may be undocumented workers …'

Obummer should be arrested for being an ignoramus.

We don`t fool around here in the North Country.

The Facts, Jack

From the Plattsburgh Press-Republican, Plattsburgh, NY:

TICONDEROGA — Ten illegal aliens from Mexico and Guatemala were taken into custody in the parking lot of the Ticonderoga Wal-Mart SuperCenter Tuesday night.

Police Chief Jeffrey Cooke said police saw the suspected car with four occupants and attempted to pull it over. "They stopped the car in the back of Wal-Mart. There were men standing all around. They're doing renovation at the store."

The men, who were not identified, were working for the general contractor renovating sections of the store. None of them could prove they were in the U.S. legally. As police attempted to take the workers into custody, three of them ran, Cooke said.

"We were not able to apprehend those three." http://blog.pressrepublican.com/archive/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=33435:illegal_aliens_found_at_ti_wal-mart:_are_employees_of_a_contractor_at_the_store&catid=34:news-articles&Itemid=64

----- Clinton said the northern border has long had a need for additional resources, especially in light of Sept. 11.

"Seeing this first-hand strengthens your case. I don't think New York state is getting its fair share of funding," Clinton said.

"Anytime I can see what you are doing in Plattsburgh is an integral part of protecting New York, and that helps me make that case."

Plattsburgh Branch Field Director Ken Tuttle said Homeland Security officers here come from all over the country.

"It takes years to develop, if ever, the local knowledge local law enforcement agencies have," Tuttle said.

"This is a much more effective combination of efforts."

It is a perfect partnership for Clinton County Sheriff Dave Favro.

He said the mindset behind bringing a Homeland Security Division to this area was to network and share resources to tighten our border areas.

The combination of air and marine patrols should help prevent those attempting illegal crossings on Lake Champlain from simply retreating into Canada, he said.

"Since 9-11, we've focused more and more on the illegal (aliens) trying to cross on the waterways," he said. ------------------------- Local investigators key to federal bust Written by By DAN HEATH, Staff Writer Thursday, March 04, 2004

PLATTSBURGH — Two men face federal drug charges after they were arrested in Kingston by Special Agents with the Department of Homeland Security Tuesday night.

The investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agents into money laundering and narcotics trafficking began in Rouses Point and is ongoing after 16 months.

Jose Gonzalez, 33, a Mexican national, and Jose Heredia, 31, a Dominican Republic national, were charged with conspiracy to posses and distribute cocaine. No drugs were seized during the arrest, but agents did seize $200,000 of suspected drug proceeds, in $20, $50 and $100 denominations.

Gonzalez and Heredia made their initial appearances in Federal Court in Albany today and remain in custody.

The Special Agents were assisted by the Montreal Urban Police, Plattsburgh City Police, Plattsburgh-based New York State Police and Homeland Security Investigators based in Albany." “Such hard-line remedies are an affront to the nation’s values”

After Obama and his friends sign on to their own health care bill, get to the back of the health care rationing line, and then exclude themselves from the right to purchase their own private health, it might be a little less insulting to the rest of us to have to listen to him lecture the rest of us on “American values”.

If everyone who was dead or illegal stopped voting, the Dems would lose a lot of elections.

But why take such a hard line? Illegal aliens have a “human Right” to vote for Democrats. And if you need proof, the next time your at a polling station, check out the drivers license they’ve been provided with.

Now, that would be pure entertainment! Obama might want to think that one over very carefully.
