What alley. That guy looks like he is in the middle of the sidewalk with people passing him left & right. What person trying to run from a criminal act is going to stop in the middle of a busy sidewalk and change their shirt? I am not buying this!

My first thought.
He looks Middle Eastern to me. The shoulder shape, the posture, the pullover sweater (they love those) and the bald spot are the tells.

He also looks like he had nothing to do with the bomb. Not to mention that the Taliban took credit for the bomb in a message recorded and sent before the incident took place. The presenter seemed to assume that the bombing had been successful. That kind of clinches the source, doesn’t it?
Until law enforcement and/or the media explains how it determined the person in the video to be WHITE, I’ll be on the lookout for all suspicious people. This racial profiling of WHITES has to stop. I’m boycotting New York.

Not a dumb question - that’s what I thought too.
Now - my dumb question. I’m guessing that is the Nissan Pathfinder in the video that he is standing next to? What about those folks at the front of the Nissan? And the one in white - what is he/she stepping over at the end of the clip? I almost imagine something like a wire running from that pole to the car. (I don’t see any wire - but it looks like they are stepping over something like that. Makes a HIGH step - not a low long step like trying to clear a pile of poop or an open grate).

I agree, though it was in an alleyway connecting the street the car was parked on with the next block over. If it’s not him, the innocent man should hear of or see the video and clear up the confusion, I’d think.
Everything is bigger in NYC. Their alleys we would call streets here.
Also, I now realize that when I take off my sweater, I am suspicious and furtive. I never knew that before. I look around too, to make sure no one is staring at my bra in case my tee shirt comes up with the sweater. Who knew how furtive I was?

The media HOPES it’s a “white male in his 40s.” However, like you, I see nothing suspicious. I see guys take off outer shirts all the time if it’s a hot day and they have a short-sleeved one underneath. Wasn’t NYC hot and humid that day? Hard to tell much from this grainy video. Can’t tell much about skin color, but hair is dark.
But then, the media has a narrative to push, ie Tea Partiers are the real danger in America.
