Something like 30,000 employers left California in the past decade.

The State can’t print money either.

Even though there is no mechanism for the State to go bankrupt, when it runs out of money it will not be able to pay its bills. There is already speculation that some bond payments will be missed in the not-to-distant future. I have no idea what would happen then. Possibly, the Federal government would step in, and treat us all like Greeks.

La La Land

Where the spending don’t stop until the cities burn to the ground.

“I could say “I told you so” but they still think they should raise taxes even more. “

What’s the definition of insanity? Liberalism is a mental disorder is really quite apt, imho. ;)

“getting rid of teachers (union workers)”

Institute school vouchers, so we can spend our education dollars anywhere we choose. That way, there’s be many more private schools and teachers would teach there based on merit. All would truly earn their keep and maintain their efficiency in the process, or the market wouldn’t allow it (weak, ineffective and lazy teachers would be fired.)

Imagine how this would increase the quality of this nation’s education.

Privatize prisons and schools and bust up public employee unions.

"Bet if you CA folks were drilling and fishing, sending illegals back to Mexico, getting rid of teachers (union workers) and half of the worthless government workers, you’d have enough money to LOWER TAXES."

That would make California back into an economic powerhouse like it used to be. But it would hurt too many people's feelings, so no-go...

"Municipalities may declare bankruptcy (and some have), but states may not."

So that means we're gonna become like Greece within the EU as CA is within the US, right?

I'm joining the underground economy here in CA as it's growth is only surpassed by CA governments!!!

"...the tax and spend approach of the California Democrats should be called the “Grecian Formula”."

Oh! That's prime!! It has a real bite of truth in it!!!

I’m thinking of leaving California and moving to the United States of America.

Just sneak across the border into the US.I hear it's easy, but then AZ may be getting a little harder.

'So that means we're gonna become like Greece within the EU as CA is within the US, right?"

Large sections of the city of Los Angeles almost burned to the ground, just because 5 cops were acquitted. What do you think is going to happen when the the gravity train runs out?

It is but a foregone conclusion that California will default. Because of reasons to numerous to get into, there isn't the political will, or even framework to fix what needs to be fixed. Once it defaults, it will no longer be able to issue bonds - at least none that anyone will buy. Without the ability to issue bonds for working capital, California is in the EXACT same circumstances as Greece. IOW, it's a mess.

I hope I’m not cutting my own throat but I can’t wait for the end to come!

I’ve seen the damage and need to hope for a re-birth here!

"Time for California to declare bankruptcy and get rid of all entitlements and unions of all kinds."

There's still plenty of private property for the California commies to confiscate.
