Viagra May Cause Hearing Loss

Apparently all that blood rushing to one place can be deafening.

According to researchers at the University of Alabama use of Viagra and other medications called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE-5i) such as Cialis and Levitra may be associated with hearing loss.

Researchers examined data on 11,525 men over the age of 40 who were surveyed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. They found men who use these types of medicines are twice as likely to report hearing loss.

What most likely happened in my case, is that the levitra dropped my blood pressure too much causing a lack of blood flow to the ear nerves. Its a form of ear stroke.

There must be some kind of underlying difference or most would have the same result. I tend toward having a low blood pressure (not clinically low, but low for my age and size). But the underlying difference may not have anything to do with hearing loss, WITHOUT the addition of an ED type drug. So, its a combination affect.

Well, my cause was due to a long-term infection that wasn’t properly treated (which actually started in my feet). It was nearly 8 years before it was formally diagnosed. After that period of time, the doctor said little could be done (what’s odd is that I still have exceptional, above-average hearing, which is rare in labyrinthitis sufferers, since hearing loss goes hand in hand with it). I have it in both ears (along with tinnitus). The doctor suggested diet change and exercises, but the latter only caused me increased disorientation and nausea. I’m also considered the equivalent of being intoxicated, so I cannot drive. Just even doing things like moving my head from side to side, up or down or standing up causes the disorientation to just plain seeing stars. It’s even worse when I’m outside. Ugh.

Me neither. My biggest problem is I’m driving down the road, start thinking about a chick and end up kicking the bottom of my dashboard and short out the radio.

With or without Viagra—men never can hear when all the blood is in a very small location.

Both ears... ouch.. that’s why they haven’t severed the nerve. There is a drug you can take that might help reduce the vertigo and tinnitus. Its an anti-seizure and anti-stress med called clonazepam. I’ve tried it and it does work to a certain extent.

I remember from years ago the rumor that something else can cause blindness.

Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitor Use and Hearing Impairment

However, this association was limited to sildenafil (Viagra) (OR, 2.05; 95% CI, 1.23-3.43); no significant associations were observed for tadalafil (Cialis) or vardenafil (Levitra) (ORs, 1.40 [95% CI, 0.49-4.04] and 0.88 [95% CI, 0.35-2.22], respectively).

” So, your testimony is that it wasn’t Rape. You are telling the jury that you never heard her say no. Further, you couldn’t hear her say no. Is that your testimony”

“Yes, That is the truth. I’ve been taking Viagra and the drug severely impairs my hearing for short periods”

The legal world will come to call this the Viagra Defense

Any un-natural substance that loads your kidneys with toxins can cause loss of hearing rather quickly.

Chelation Therapy proved this; almost half of Chelation patients end up with hearing loss within a few months.
