AZ Gov abruptly suspends state's [Dem] attorney general from illegal immigration law defense

A sudden new twist in the ongoing rhetorical and legal struggle over Arizona's tough new law to round up illegal immigrants.

Late Friday night as the Memorial Day weekend began, Arizona's Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, in effect, suspended the state's Democratic attorney general from defending the new law in upcoming legal challenges.

It was an executive order issued I believe by Bruce Babbit. Ev thought the people should vote on it, not have a Gov. declared holiday. He rescinded it by executive order. The NFL pressured AZ. It was put on ballot and voted on.

No, it's not petty. It's understanding what it's going to take on the long, rough road ahead. Knowing what you're up against isn't petty, it's smart. I've been let down by RINOs too often.

I’m not surprised I’m taking flack on this thread. I agree wholeheartedly Brewer’s doing the right things, and I don’t care about her reasons, other than to point out she’s got competition from the right, and that’s keeping her square with us. But, having met the person, I really doubt she’d be doing such a great job because it’s in her heart. She’s a politician first, and would throw us under the bus in a nanosecond if she thought she could get away with it.

I almost vomit every time I see that “Janet the Riveter” cartoon.
