She’s a pretty tough lady and seems to have some decent advisors. Now if they can keep her liberal streak under control she could end up being one of our best governors.

Surprisingly, the LA Times takes a few swipes at Team Obama !!!

“Despite widespread criticism ... the Obama administration, whose officials including Holder admitted they had not actually read the legislation ..”

” ...last year when Janet Napolitano resigned to accept the man-caused nomination of Homeland Security secretary...”

“Brewer has sought to meet with the now-vacationing Obama during a trip to Washington next week. But the Democrat has been unable to fit the Republican governor and the border issue into his impossible schedule”

She successfully got “Voter Id at the polls” established as law. (while Secretary of State)

Well, we could use someone like that in California.

“Careful! You’re gonna be called petty for not being in love with Jan.”

I certainly do not dislike her. BUT< I fear she will turn as seems the common trait of these feel-good borderline RINOs. If she keeps this up, I may have apologize, but I have no problem with that!

She’s too smart to be a politician.

Brewer fought the Pubbie controlled legislature for months — they wanted to hold the line on spending. And Brewer was talking like a Democrat — “We’ve cut all we can cut, can’t cut anymore, yada yada.” She wanted the legislature to raise the state sales tax so she wouldn’t have to lay off state workers, the legislature refused, headed up by Russell Pearce, who engineered the immigration bill that Brewer gets all the credit for. Finally at an impasse, they compromised by putting it to a public vote. The Yes side had 2.3 million dollars to promote it, and the No side and nothing to spend. It unfortunately passed 2 to 1, so the state is saddled with an additional 1% sales tax for 3 years because Brewer wouldn’t lay anyone off. So as usual, gubmint gets larger and the private sector shrinks.

Brewer did NOT want to sign the controversial immigration bill into law. She wanted to let it go into law w/o her signature, but she has the conservative State Treasurer challenging her in the Primary, so she signed it because of that.

So bottom line, she has been doing the right thing on immigration, but previous to this she was a RINO, who was thrust into the Guv’s office by default from the SOS position when Big Sis left the state. Credit where credit is due to her for doing right on this issue, but IMHO she can not be trusted — I think she will eventually revert back to being a RINO, plus now she is drunk with national fame, IMHO, which could be a dangerous thing.

Brewer is NOT national VP material. Forget that.

Thank you Babu. I was wondering how quickly people forget the huge budget battle that happened just a few short months ago. Brewer fought the Republican legislature tooth and nail all on behalf of teacher's unions in Arizona. It made me sick. And now we've got a tax increase to deal with because of it.

I agree 100% with what she's doing with regards to the battle against illegal immigration. And in this instance, I'm grateful she has the huevos to stand up for Arizona. But she'll turn RINO and stab conservatives in the back in a heartbeat... very McCain-like in that respect.

I don't trust any of them, to tell you the truth.

I wish every state had a governor such as this one! There was a silver lining in Napolitano's leaving Arizona.

There will be some who disagree. Just as there are many here who think Arpaio is bad news. Personally I like them both.

They are serious about the ID match too. Which doesn’t bother me in the least. I got to the poll with my DL which was not updated on the license with my new address. I had to get out of line and go back into my car to get two other forms of ID with my new address on it. DIDN’T BOTHER ME AT ALL. Happy to do it I was.

It was a good move on her part, and she is absolutely right to be suspicious. California had passed a proposition to limit or eliminate benefits to illegals. A Federal judge overturned it, then a Democrat became Attorney General and no appeal was pursued.

___________________________________________

Blame it on Gray Davis who was the Dem Gov. back then...Yes, AG Bill Lockyer was also a Dem...But, Davis made the decision not to pursue the appeal.

Had Gray Davis done his job in 1998, he would not have become the first recalled Governor in California history.

_________________________________________________

During the recall election, Davis’s response to 187 was not discussed at all...

Main focus was on car taxes and state budgets...Also driver’s license for illegals...

Unfortunately, after Davis dropped the appeal, the 187 issue just disappeared...

Yeah, two jackasses working together for selfish party interests regardless of what was necessary and proper for reasoned governance. If nothing else, I took great pride in signing the recall for Davis and voting for McClintock. Of course, Arnold won, and we got more of the same.

We actually have some real leaders standing up in the conservative movement.

A short list: Palin, Brewster, Christie, Bachman, and West.

And every one of them will be supported and elevated in national politics because they've got their navigation controls set to the exact co-ordinates where The People want this nation to go.

Listen up America----we citizens have to put up with savages crossing the border so endangered vote-hungry Dems can get back in w/ illegal votes.

THE REAL HATE IN ARIZONA Accuracy in Academia investigated "ethnic studies" and uncovered damaging material. In the high schools of Tuscon, Arizona, a book by Paulo Freire (a Brazilian Marxist) called Pedagogy of the Oppressed is required reading in "Raza Studies" (ie, Race Studies), otherwise known as "Mexican-American courses."

Another favorite is "Occupied America" by Rodolfo Acuna who is a professor of Chicano Studies at California State University in Northridge. "Occupied America," according to the invaders, includes a map of Mexico in 1821 which includes the American Southwest.

Here's a choice quote from "Occupied America." It gives us an idea of material Hispanic students are being exposed to in Arizona public schools: "We are fed up. We are going to do away with the injustice to the Chicano and if the 'gringo' doesn't get out of our way, we will stampede over him."

Another priceless gem: "Gutierrez attacked the gringo establishment angrily at a press conference and called upon Chicanos to "Kill the gringo,' which meant to end white control over Mexicans."

THIRD WORLDERS HATE AMERICA AND AMERICANS The savages vow to "Kill the gringo! Stampede over him! Rise up and overthrow the White oppressor in a bloody Communist insurrection! "

------------------------------------------------

REFERENCE-----FR Posted by WilliamHouston, 5/24/10

Illegal aliens who literally break into America and demand special privileges under the law say thet are oppressed? If so, they sought out "oppression" by coming here. That's like a random stranger breaking into my house in the middle of the night and demanding amnesty (the lawful right to reside on my property) as a reward for his crime.

"Occupied America" according to the invaders includes a map of Mexico in 1821 which includes the American Southwest.

The story of how Mexico lost the region in a war with the Polk administration is recounted from an ethnic chauvinist perspective. From 1821 until 1848, a mere 27 years, the American Southwest was under Mexican sovereignty. From 1848 until 2010, 162 years, the Southwest has belonged to the United States. Mexico never had a compelling claim to the Southwest.

In the 27 years the region was under Mexican rule, Mexico City exercised little control over the area. Local Indian tribes like the Comanches and Pueblo Indians were the true authorities. Few Mexicans lived in Alta California and the Southwest. This is especially true of the Indians and mestizos from Central and Southern Mexico who are predominant among the immigrants who come from that country and make the usual race based claims.

The people of Arizona are under no obligation to subsidize Marxist pedagogues determined to incite violence and racial hatred against them and their descendants.

Can't help but wonder why the Far Left ostensibly committed to fighting "racism" is so quiet about government-sponsored racial hatred---and threats of savage violence---in American public schools.

That disturbing line of inquiry raises more questions than answers.

If we are going to proceed to the next front, I’d request that the governor consider an indefinite suspension of each and every sheriff who has refused to perform their duty in supporting and enforcing SB1070.
