In response to the oil spill, the Obama administration has canceled leasing offshore tracts for drilling that was planned off Virginia and the western Gulf of Mexico, and imposed a six-month moratorium on drilling exploratory and development wells in waters deeper than 500 feet.
In a national survey of 522 adults, on a scale of 0 to 10,

That’s gotta hurt.
And it won’t matter what we think. Just like the majority don’t want Obamacare. They are gonna do what they want to do...at least for another few months.
Absolutely. And get the enviroloonswastesofflesh whackjobs out of the way. If they had been allowed to drill closer in it would have been capped by now.
BTW, have y’all seen the collection of “experts” Oblahblah put on his “commission”? Can anyone say “no drilling ever”?
I’ve voting for a congressman who wants slant drilling under the great lakes too.
The great ones resignation should be layed on the table for him to sign.
This whole mess in the GOM only confirms what we have always known — screw you Saudi Arabia, we have oil of our own!
Now, if we can only have the right people drill for it using a safer technology.
Everyone who is against off shore drilling should have to surrender their car/motorcycle for good. NOW.
Wow, a national survey of 522. I’ll ask my 3 cats what they think and we’ll make it 525.
Oily pelican, or $6/gal. gas.
You make the call, America
It is a statistically relevant sample. At least that is what they taught me in Statistics class many moons ago, never quite understood how it worked.

Smart guy. The Canadians have been doing this for years (even as they criticize us for not being sensitive to the environment)
Corollary: Despite large pile up on the freeway, most Americans still support driving.

Right now all we know about this spill is the following:
- a blowout preventer that was supposed to prevent spills of this nature failed.
- it was the first time one of these had failed in decades and decades of underwater drilling.
- nobody knows why it failed.
- there are some charges from people who may have been in a position to know that inspectors and regulators were not being sufficiently diligent with BP prior to the spill.
- BP was the largest single contributor to Obama’s campaign.
- The government response to this event has been inept on a comic-opera scale.
As they used to say on TV, just the facts, ma’am
Notice in the article where Democrats show low support in drilling.
Democrats MUST turn in their automobiles at the nearest recycling plant and be issued a new pair of running shoes. The only problem is that it’s hard finding running shoes not made of oil products. What to do?
“It is a statistically relevant sample.”
What, of people who will actually answer the phone and talk to some pollster? I’ve never taken stats, but I find this hard to believe without some explanation.
Here is a website that explains statistical sampling, error and methodology: www.socialresearchmethods.net
