The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.
The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.

Intentional chaos -> destabilization of mores -> openness to tyranny
what does the most damage? nobama
That’s what I think too.
What is the fed gonna do, really? Send the coast gurad in and start firing on ‘em?
Not likely. That would be awfully damaging politically.
You nailed it. This is far more a case of ineptitude and red tape writ large than it is a case of malice afordthought.
And thank you for not falling victim to the oh-so-convenient conspiracy theories.
First it was the coast guard delaying skimmers and others while they did their petty inspections, and now the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department says move that berm, it endangers the wildlife.
F'ing morons !!
Indeed. Our enemies must be happy that their man is in the White House.

I’m through giving the benefit of the doubt.
They are pushing policies whose common object is the destruction of our culture, economy, and country.
No, this is purposeful.
Obamah Is Kicking MY Ass!!
Exactly!
There’s nothing the feds could really do about it anyway without severe policital damage.
I believe he wants to maximize the damage in order to justify passing their extreme environmental legislation. If you doubt that, ask yourself why the greens are all silent now. Why aren’t they screaming and demonstrating against the administration? Seems like the word went out and they are all cooperating, waiting for the disaster to play out. Dead fish, dead dolphins and whales, pathetic oil covered sea birds, blood red oil in the waves, globs of oil on white sand, oil soaked marshes, tons of chemicals dumped in the ocean to “disperse” the oil, burning sea turtles - silence! (side benefit for the commies - economic ruin for the gulf states)
Governer Jindal should order the work to continue.
He should then hold a press conference informing Washington the decision was his and his alone. He should further advise them that the only way he is leaving Louisian is in handcuffs.
Force the issue and the Marxists would back down...
> FWIW what is the Community Organizer going to do...sue?
Maybe he’ll have the SEIU stage a sit-in in front of the dredgers.
Seems like he hates Black people. The well used anti-Bush mantra of Katrina would sure seem to fit here.
It’s all about federal control. States have no rights or power in the new world order.
Likely a letter, faxed. That’s how most of our communication with the federales happens.
>>Obama was put in place by the left and the muslims.
Specifically, by the royal families of Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, in coordination with the Chinese ruling class.
If it wasn’t intentional, the law of averages says he’d get something right once in a while by accident.
This is entirely by design. But it’s always much easier to dismiss the designs of the truly wicked as fanciful conspiracy fiction. It makes for a better night’s sleep.
Obama wants...no, he NEEDS the crises and any attempts to stop, slow or fix it will not be allowed.
And thank you for not falling victim to the oh-so-convenient conspiracy theories.
I hope it's just incompetency/bureaucracy because the alternative is too evil to comprehend...
