Sen. Robert Byrd, the longest serving senator in U.S. history, is in serious condition in a Washington area hospital, according to aides to the West Virginia Democrat.

According to a statement from Byrd’s staff released Sunday afternoon, the senator “was admitted to the hospital late last week suffering from what was believed to be heat exhaustion and severe dehydration as a result of the extreme temperatures. He was expected to remain in the hospital not more than a few days.”

The statement added: “However, upon further examination by his doctors, other conditions have developed which has resulted in his condition being described as ‘serious.’”

Byrd’s office did not say which hospital he was in, although Byrd’s doctors described his condition as “seriously ill.”

The key is Byrd’s term which ends Jan. 3, 2013. The same results however.

What was the old saying, “I hope he passes quietly like Grampa did, not like the passengers in the car Grampa was driving”

but I hope he gets better

Plaaaeeeeeze, why on earth would you wish well for a guy that has obviously been destructive to America for his entire life and has been leader of the pack of democrat thieves all these years? How many good people have suffered because of him? Good riddance I say! Hope he rots in hell, sooner rather than later.

I wonder what the 0bamascare Death Panels, which he supported, will decide for the 92 year old - has he exhausted all his carbon credits?

Six days to go, depending to some extent whether his office expires at noon or midnight.

Democrats will be praying for Byrd to live right up until that deadline. Then they'll want him dead, so one of them can get the office.

COLD...but funny.

COLD? Maybe, but I have seen so much from these loberal Bast^&ds, that I don't care any more. The worse the calamities that befall them, the better I like it. They spend 24 hours a day trying to take down 200 years of history, MY HISTORY. Da&N them to he!!. I am sick of this s^&t.

I am fast approaching retirement age and I can't because I don't know where the economy is going. I realize we never know, but this usurper in Washington is on a path to destroy this country. So, if Byrd hangs on, there is one less DAMOCRAT vote in the senate. I only wish his malady on ten more DAMS. We could start with that weasel, Mark Begich, my own worthless ass-kisser from Alaska. He took advantage of a concerted atttack on a good man to steal his seat in the Senate. HE cares not one whit about Alaska, he just votes however obummer and reid tell him to.

As big an overrated blowhard hypocrite as Monyihan was

Dear Black folks:

An unconvicted KKK member is in serious condition in a Washington area hospital, according to aides.

In a statement Sunday, his staff said the Klansman “was admitted to the hospital late last week suffering from what was believed to be heat exhaustion and severe dehydration as a result of the extreme temperatures. He was expected to remain in the hospital not more than a few days.”

“However, upon further examination by his doctors,” the statement went on, “other conditions have developed which has resulted in his condition being described as ‘serious.’ ”

The violent hate-group member’s staff did not say which hospital he was in.

The 92-year-old lynch-mob racist began government employment in 1952.

The Ku Klux Klan is a leftist terrorist group that tortures and murders black people. It has lengthy historic affiliation with the democrat party going back to the 1860s with foundings who were Confederate War Veterans and other Democrat politicians.

WV has not trended Republican, it is a conservative state, which continues to elect Democrats as its governor and in its US Senate seats. Rockefeller and Byrds' elections have faced very little opposition from GOP challengers.

It continues to vote red in presidential elections.

Everything in WV is named after Byrd; info centers, buildings, bridges and the space radio telescope in the Green Brier Valley ~ curiously, the locals that I encountered refused to address the telescope by it's official name, "The Robert C. Byrd Telescope", it is referred to as the Green Bank Telescope.

Robert C. Byrd Academic and Technology Center

Robert C. Byrd addition to the lodge at Oglebay Park, Wheeling

Byrd Aerospace Technology Center

Robert C. Byrd Bridge between Huntington and Chesapeake, Ohio

Robert C. Byrd Cancer Research Center

Robert C. Byrd Clinical Addition to the veteran's hospital in Huntington

Robert C. Byrd Community Center, Pine Grove

Robert C. Byrd Community Center in the naval station, Sugar Grove

Robert C. Byrd Drive, from Beckley to Sophia (Byrd's hometown)

Robert C. Byrd Expressway, U.S. 22 near Weirton

Robert C. Byrd Federal Building

Robert C. Byrd Federal Courthouse

Robert C. Byrd Freeway

Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope

Robert C. Byrd Hardwood Technologies Center, near Princeton

Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia

Robert C. Byrd High school in Bridgeport

Robert C. Byrd Highway

Robert C. Byrd Hilltop Office Complex, Mineral County

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarships

Robert C. Byrd Industrial Park, Hardy County

Robert C. Byrd Institute in Charleston

Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing

Robert C. Byrd Library and Robert C. Byrd Learning Resource Center

Robert C. Byrd Life Long Learning Center

Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam

Robert C. Byrd National Technology Transfer Center

Robert C. Byrd Rural Health Center

Robert C. Byrd Scholastic Recognition Award

Byrd Science Center, Shepherd University

Robert C. Byrd Technology Center at Alderson-Broaddus College

Robert C. Byrd United Technical Center

Robert C. Byrd Visitor Center at Harpers Ferry National Historic Park

All of these projects, some of them very good and worthwhile endeavors, were secured with Federal dollars (your money and mine), which had been the way that Byrd has retained favor and been re-elected, despite the fact that he does not necessarily represent the flavor of his constituency. I think it's discusting that any elected official should use his office to acquire such honors for themselves.

In recent years, I believe that Byrd's seat in the Senate has been controlled by his staff ~ obviously.

It is a conservative state with conservative values, which can't seem to get it right at the polls. Manchin will appoint a Democrat, but they will be the first in many years to be capable of being unseated by a pubbie.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.
