Former Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod said Thursday she wants to discuss racial issues with President Obama, who's "not someone who has experienced some of the things I've experienced in life."
But she also said on morning news shows she feels there is no need for Obama to apologize for her wretched week, which started with a conservative blogger posting controversial remarks she made, and led to her ouster as an Agriculture Department official and then, ultimately, apologies from both the White House and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.

Sherrod said of Obama: "I'd like to help him see some of the things that he could do in the future."
"I really regret what they did. But as I said before, he's my president," Sherrod said. "When you get it down to where the rubber meets the road, I think you need to understand a little more what life is like. I'd love to talk to him, though, or people in his administration ... to help them understand."

Shirley I have seen your tapes and interviews. I believe you to be sincere in what you say. But you stand a better chance of getting an attentive audience in the tea party when discussing “racial issue” than you ever will in the white house.
My guess is Breirbart is not finished yet. But notice how all the “conservative” talking heads are groveling at her feet now. Sorry, but I don’t see the “amazing” contrition that even Ann Coulter gushes about.
I don’t think it backfired at all.
First of all, Obama once again demonstrated utter incompetence.
That’s a good thing.
Second, it’s driven yet another stake into the over-used “racism” charge. It is a necessary step (which I know a lot on our side don’t want, but it’s necessary) to treat the left just as they treat us.
That means, use Alinsky tactics, and yes when appropriate even charges of racism.
It will erode the effectiveness of those, for the left, when we treat them the same way. And best of all, eventually everyone will throw up their hands in frustration at everyone accusing everyone else of “racism” and say “THAT’S RIDICULOUS”.
Which will be when that word, no longer has such terrible effect for the left to use dishonestly.
This was necessary and the result is just fine imho.
