President Barack Obama on Wednesday reflected on 20 months of crises that have plagued his administration and praised the inspiration he draws from the American people as he taped a rare interview with a daytime television talk show.
Obama's appearance on ABC's "The View" -- which is presented by a panel including veteran journalist Barbara Walters and actress Whoopi Goldberg -- will be shown in full on Thursday at 11:00am EST.
In excerpts released by the network, Obama tells the panel it is "fun" to be on the show for the first time since he became president.
Walters says: "But you know you've gone through a little bit of a beating the last month. Do you really think that being on a show with a bunch of women, five women who never shut up, is going to be calming?"
Obama replies: "Look, I was trying to find a show that [First Lady] Michelle [Obama] actually watched and so I thought this is it, right here. All those new shows she's like, 'eh, let me get the clicker.'"

How does the press corps feel now that they have been replaced by daytime tv hacks?
For the life of me, I don’t think I can see the difference between the White House press corps and the women on the View.
The Friends showed a “short clip” so I hit mute and left the room...a few minutes later I return to see Barry still droning on and on with his Bush-blaming talking points.
That a President of the United States, the heir to the seat of Washington, Adams, Jackson, and Lincoln , men of dignity and strength , would appear on a day time television show with a bunch of “yentas” speaks volumes for how low this country has sunk in recent years. This appearance is saying that the current presidency relates to these type of cloying women who talk incessantly, and that it realizes that these foolish women will buy anything if it appeals to their emotions. Good grief, do not get me started on how the publicity photo makes Obama look like a rooster in a hen house, which is the appeal, I firmly believe, he is aiming for, desperate as he is for votes.

Don’t forget, this walking talking POS stiffed the Boy Scouts jamboree, 100 year anniversary of Boy Scouts this year, to attend this farce along with all his campaign money raising stops.
