WASHINGTON--Michelle Obama and daughter Sasha returned from Spain on Sunday, a vacation at a lavish hotel on the Mediterranean coast that triggered her first controversy since becoming first lady. I'm told she made the trip because she promised one of her closest friends, a longtime Chicago pal who just lost her father, she would spend time with her.

So why did Mrs. Obama go to Spain at this time? She's not tone-deaf politically. What was behind the "mother-daughter" vacation?
A White House source told me that Blanchard's father passed away and Mrs. Obama was not able to make the funeral at the beginning of July. Blanchard had promised her daughter she would take her to Spain for her birthday. She asked Mrs. Obama and Sasha to come with. (Malia is at overnight camp.)
"She felt it was important as a dear friend to do this," I was told.

Remember that recent example of the lady BO paraded out who was "unemployed," hadn't she been fired or something similar? they don't do ANY vetting apparently. Using a funeral as an excuse is so wrong and desperate. And, EVEN if it is true, as my manager once told us, "business is business." In other words, we're allowed limited time to grieve for friends of friends. But since MO has never actually worked in the private business world, I guess she wouldn't know that.
What about the 60 rooms?? Was that "misspoken" also? Originally they said 30, that was bad enough. Did each SS and servant-slave get 2-3 rooms??
At least the cartoonists are getting her massive rear end right, not glossing it over....

I don’t doubt the golf buddies were supposed to vacation in Marbella with their wives as 0’s guests, but plans changed. Rumor has it that 0 met with Fitz during the family Memorial Day visit to Chicago. With Blago’s jury deliberating and JJJ’s delayed ethics hearing looming, did 0 meet and his Chicago posse again with Fitz?
That's what I thought. So this idea that some have that the media will be following her closely and reporting her every move is just nonsense. The media will cover what they want to publicize, and downplay (or ignore) what they don't want anyone to know about.

They think they can fool all of the people all of the time. But many of those folks who voted for Obama are already waking up to the truth.
