The race between Republican Congressman Roy Blunt and Democrat Robin Carnahan in Missouris U.S. Senate race is little changed after both candidates easily won their party primaries last week.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Missouri Voters shows Blunt with 50% support, while Carnahan earns 43% of the vote.
Two weeks ago, Blunt posted a 49% to 43% lead over Carnahan, Missouris current secretary of state. Blunt has run slightly ahead of Carnahan in surveys all year, with support ranging from 45% to 50%. She, in turn, has picked up 41% to 45% of the vote in those same surveys.
Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

I heard an interview of him the day after the primary and he was very reticent about repealing Obamacare. Something about needing some other socialist program to take it's place.
Ugh. When I lived in MO, he was one of the most conservative Reps. from the state. What happened? Too much Washington koolaid?
This poll doesn’t mean anything, because the voters are just upset and ignorant.
dont these figures tighten up closer to election?
This is a lie from the pit of hell its self. Roy does want to repeal Obamacare. He was passionate about doing so. How do I know? He is my Congressman.
It is true that he is not perfect, but he is far from a RINO and has represented this district and our conservative values very well.
Before you start calling someone a RINO (especially Roy), I think its fair to point out specifically what policy he was proposing that was socialist in nature.
If memory serves me correctly, Roy is proposing to replacing Obamacare with a market based solution. I would agree that. We shouldnt be just repealing the God forsaken piece of legislation - but trying to introduce ideas which truly reform the industry by introducing market based methods.
He wasn't "passionate" the day after the primary.
He sounded more like Harry Reid.
Do you have a link to his "market based solution?"
I didn't think so.
PS - I will vote for him because I have to. He is far less evil than any Carnahan.
That poster is astroturfing here for the dems.
Thank you for your post stating the TRUTH!! I also live in Missouri and am proud of what Blunt has been trying to do in this drastic time when too many Americans are still unwilling to find out the truth!
We will see Lots of astroturfing like that poster peddling the Bond lies until the election. The dems are out in force.
Blunt has a 93.18 rating from ACU. Hardly a RINO.
20 seconds of unthoughtful research yielded the following: http://www.royblunt.com/issues.php?id=60
I fully admit to only skimming the topic from the website - but would ask if this is what Roy was talking about on the radio. If not, again could you provide some sort of evidence that Roy was pushing a socialist program.
I have live in Roy's district for decades and have never heard the man push any such proposal, even when he was county clerk. What you posted runs contrary to the man I know. This raises a flag for me.
If there have been any pit falls for Roy, it was that he didnt demand earmark reform fast enough and you could be critical of his fiscal policies from 2001-~03.
Pushing a socialist health care agenda? No way no how.
Looks good now, actually it’s surprising he is not over 50%. The REAL bonus would be to lose McCaskill in 2012.
You watch.
How many of the Purgason voters will simply stay home, not vote, out of disgust or frustration or because "their guy" didn't win? That is my greatest concern.
IMO, Republicans must FIRST maintain the senate seat in Republican control. After that (ie. Blunt wins in November), then we must continue to breathe down his neck (figuratively speaking, of course) and let him know that we're watching and we expect him to STAY conservative (as he claims he is). If Senator Blunt becomes/remains a RINO, then we find a replacement for him in 2016.
But first, he - the Republican - MUST win in 2010 (whether all Republicans agree with him on all issues or not). That's the next step in saving/restoring the Republic.
All Republicans, regardless of who you supported in the primary, please vote for Blunt this November. (We all know Robin would vote in the interest of freedom 0% of the time!)
According some Freepers unless someone’s ACU rating is 175.99 they are a RINO.
Or as Reuters would present it, “Blunt maintains a narrow lead over Carnahan.”
You do realize “CLAIRE” co-sponsored the stimulus bill.
Open seat
Well this Purgason voter will vote for Roy in November...
I voted for Purgason in the primary for the sole reason to send Roy a ‘message’...that there is a significant conservative base here in MO. I knew there was no way Purgason was going to defeat Roy in the primary.
