However, dear White reader, the word is a trap for you. The same word that was a term of affection is now magically transformed into a racist, hate-filled word! I haven't heard Dr laura on the radio in the longest time. I simply do not find any radio stations carrying her anymore. Used to be you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing her.

I was never a really big fan of her show. Just didn't find it that interesting

Why appologize? Just because the politically-correct, vote-seeking politicians have CREATED the rule, it doesn't matter if you are called "whitey", "redneck", "cracker", etc., but some guilt-ridden, "sensitive", "diversity seeking", pandering, patronizing fools have made a RELIGION out of making sure certain voting blocks are not "offended" by words.....and use it as an excuse to redistribute your earnings to the "offended" party, and thus ensure the handouts are un-ending and dependable.

Unfortunately, those offended by mere words are the bottom of the gene pool, un-educated, and/or, educated in the Liberal teachings of their masters and unable to fend for themselves without assistance....

Couldn't happen to a nicer gal. She likes to share how incredibly smart she is, however, anyone with an ounce of common sense would have known how to make her point in a less offensive manner.

She did not hear what this caller's was saying, she chose to go off on tangent about the "N" word and did not address the caller concern at all. She made her point and now she looks like a jerk. If she had seen her caller as a person in pain asking for help, instead of trying to display her "smarts" she would not be in this position.

My (white) son worked for a black boss and heard that all the time among the other blacks. Evidently there's some hierarchy/tension between the mixed bloods ("high-yallers") and the "purebreds" (their terms). On a couple of occasions the boss put his arm around my boy's shoulder and said "This boy is my niggah!" and everyone thought it was funny. Evidently there are nuances to the "N-word" (cough).

I'd love to be in a position to tell some black people "I sometimes use the 'N'-word when describing a few people." After they go flash the Race card and go ballistic, I'd xpand by saying "'N'-words like "Nitwit" or "Nincompoop".

Good point by Laura. If cracker, honkey and other other ethnic slur is OK, what should any group be off limits? I think we are approaching the point when it will again be OK to say anything you damn well please as the racist charge is so overused it not longer registers or has an impact.
