Only Lenny Bruce could straighten this out...
But using “white nigger” is ok. And what about cracker, honky?
If I have heard the n-word 1000 times in my life, 998 of the times it was from a black.
Until my black neighbor got married and settled down he used to be on his cell phone outside frequently and spoke loudly. He spoke a strange ghetto language that I was only able to describe as “niggamofo”, based on the most common words he used in every conversation.
He is actually a great neigbor and has given me help a few times, but I am so glad wifey has calmed him down and I don’t hear that talk anymore.
ROTFSMAO!
Look using the N- word is like guys that use Mother F-—er, if their tight friends out drinking it can be affection, you call a someone you don’t know the your going to get a black eye
I’ve used it all my life and I don’t give a damn what anyone thinks!
The F-word is wrong, but I can use it with impunity, because I’m a whore.
It is an offensive word/term, meant to shock. That’s why rappers, comedians, etc. use it. It is unlikely it will ever cease to be an offensive word. Although if over-used enough it can take the sting out of it. Just look at “racist” — it has become almost funny, a badge of honor even, to be called racist by a ‘lib. Means they really have run out of useful debating points...
Hey, the esteemed Senator Robert C. Byrd used the N word at least twice in a national interview with the wonderful late Tony Snow. Did he catch any grief in the mainstream media?
If I hear the n-word spoken and turn around to see who said it, which am I most likely to see:
A. A white racist
B. A black
C. A black rapper
D. A suburban white kid, pretending to be a black rapper
Things are looking rather dark for her. I hope she isn’t spooked by all of this criticism. She has to learn that it is a jungle out there.
She makes an excellent point. I used to stop of at a go-go sometimes on my way home from work and they used to play a lot of rap or hip hop style songs that constantly used the n word. So I started using the word rather loudly myself at the bar despite their being black people there as well. The barmaid rushed up to tell me to stop and I made it clear to her that I have to hear it in the songs then I am going to say it. I told her to ban it from the songs. Unbelievably I won. They stopped playing songs using that word from then on.
"Niger" I believe is the base word for black is many of the romantic languages. The island of Niger, Niger River, Nigeria, Nigerian all not offensive.
The only reason it now has negative meaning is that it was deemed to be negative.
Sort of like the word "damn"...which comes from Latin damno which means to stop or hold back. Asking God to damn (stop) something is VERY appropriate.
She should not have apologized. She made a good point.
We are ALL n_____s to da gu’ment, whether we are black, white, green or purple. We belong to IT.
Although Dr. Lala’s point was valid, apparently she has too much white guilt to be able to illustrate it effectively. I imagine she will not be employed for much longer, because she has already signaled her weakness.
