"She has not taught in a Peabody classroom since 1986, but when she retires from her job in the private sector, Annemarie DuBois will be eligible to receive the same pension she'd get if she'd been teaching her entire career. DuBois, a former English teacher at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, has been on a leave of absence from the school for 24 years. Before the 1986-87 school year, she left to work for a union that represents the state's public school teachers."

The good news is that all union pension funds have been embezzled by the union higher-ups, so she ain't getting nothing in a couple more years.

For some reason, I can’t load the full article. Regardless, this is pure liberal nonsense. No one should be on a “leave of absence” for 24 years, even if they’ve been battling cancer or something like that. At some point, they either get fired or go on disability.

I served 7 years in the USAF then was honorably discharged (think of it as a leave of absence)to serve myself, I mean the country elsewhere, I’m ready to collect my pension after 25 years of private sector duty.

“Contract is a contract”

I’m not a lawyer but let’s face it - this is fraud.

>>> Annemarie DuBois will be eligible to receive the same pension she’d get if she’d been teaching her entire career.

This is nothing new or unexpected. Miss DuBois has always depended on the kindness of strangers.
