Just How Smart is Obama?
American Thinker ^ | August 18, 2010 | Victor Volsky

The meteoric rise to the presidency of Barack Obama was fueled in no small part by the widely-accepted contention that he was one of the smartest men ever to seek the Oval Office. He is not the first leader to be oversold.

"As far as Saddam Hussein being a great military strategist, he is neither a strategist, nor is he schooled in the operational art, nor is he a tactician, nor is he a general, nor is he a soldier. Other than that he's a great military man -- I want you to know that." It is an article of faith among the mainstream media, even on the squishy right (Bill O'Reilly comes to mind), to start any discussion of the 44th President with a ritual expression of utter amazement at his enormous brain power.

This immortal witticism of Gen. Normal Schwarzkopf after a lightning 1991 campaign that cut to pieces the Iraqi dictator's vaunted army resonates with me each time I read or hear any discussion of President Obama.

I expect he’s above average for the overall population, but nowhere near elite—and probably below average among our other presidents.

Liberalism is all about
affirming your own self worth.

Sowell does a great exposition of this in “Intellectuals and Society”.

“Just do a little contrafactual thinking. What if Obama had come into office and constructed a middle ground for his stimulus package using a few of the conservatives’ ideas on how to bring back the economy. And then imagine he’d gone on to craft his health care policy by picking off the moderate wing of the Republican Party. He would have been able to drive a wedge through the Republican Party that would have left them whimpering and whining in a corner as he continued to build on the coalition that elected him and won over several red states in 2008.

But that wasn’t the path our brilliant president took. He likes to brag that he’s pretty good at politicking, but he’s managed to infuse strength into the conservative movement in a way unimaginable just a couple of years ago. Yup, that’s our Barack, the brilliant politician.”

There can be no longer be a shred of doubt as to OBOWzo’s embrace of Marxism. That he is also is a veritable Mulligan Stew of psychological pathologies makes him even MORE dangerous. Even a shrink as bright at Charles Krauthammer has trouble finding enough words to adequately describe what’s going on in the guy’s head.

My take is that he is a rare form of idiot savant whose “gift” is an urge to engage in mindless and continual eloqution and public oratory. His egocentrism and narcissism — probably resulting from having been abandoned first by his father then his mother — found in ALL politicians has reached a far higher level in him than in others and requires him to be “on” and the center of attention at all times.

(Even MSNBC leftist talker Ed Shultz, fresh from a visit to the White House, reported that Obama has turned the place into a shrine to – surprise – OBAMA, with portraits of his first year – and hopefully, his LAST full year – in office EVERYWHERE! Can you say “egomaniac?”)

Couple that with the problem described by microbiologist P.B. Medawar that

“(…) the spread of secondary and latterly tertiary education has created a large population of people, often with well-developed literary and scholarly tastes, who have been educated far beyond their capacity to undertake analytical thought”
and you have a formula for the creature known as Obama.

He is as lacking in the ability to think critically as are the voters who put him in office and who now bear full responsibility for the possibly irreparable damage now being done to this country by Obama and his minions.

The bigger problem – as pointed out by another Freeper – is that when the veneration by his former devotees fades and, like Hitler in his Berlin bunker, he begins to feel that they are not intelligent enough to appreciate his “brilliance,” he could become an even more dangerous and destructive creature than he is now.

his former co-workers say he was, “lazy, arrogant, and easily the lowest IQ in the building?”

Which co-workers would these be? I hadn't heard this. Sounds absolutely convincing -- I just haven't seen it before.

University of Chicago Law. The “job” he was given at the behest of parties unknown for which he was woefully unqualified.

He always reminds me of a kid who has been told his whole life that he is the smartest, best looking, etc human being. He cannot fathom anyone not thinking every word he deems to utter is pure gold. I think the term for that is arrogance.

Bill O'Reilly last night idiotically praised Obama for being very hard-working.

In fairness, this time I believe he was being sarcastic. It was said in the midst of some critical comments he directed at "the one."

The Divine Child also has two dysfunctional or shadow forms: the High Chair Tyrant and the Weakling Prince:

The High Chair Tyrant is epitomized by the image of Little Lord Fauntleroy sitting in his high chair, banging his spoon on the tray, and screaming for his mother to feed him, kiss him, and attend him. Like a dark version of the Christ child, he is the center of the universe; others exist to meet his powerful needs and desires. . . .

The High Chair Tyrant, through the Shadow King, may continue to be a ruling archetypal influence in adulthood. We all know the story of the promising leader, the CEO, or the presidential candidate, who starts to rise to great prominence and then shoots himself in the foot. He sabotages his success, and crashes to the earth.
