ABC: Men arrested at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport were preparing terrorist attack

AMSTERDAM (BNO NEWS) -- Two men were arrested aboard a United Airlines flight after landing at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Monday, ABC News reported.
The network, citing Dutch public prosecutor Ernst Koelman, said the men were arrested at the request of American authorities after the flight landed in Amsterdam. ABC said the men were subsequently charged with "preparation of a terrorist attack."
The two were allowed to board the flight at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago on Sunday night despite security concerns surrounding one of them, officials told ABC News, which identified the men as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, of Detroit, MI, and Hezam al Murisi.
The plane which had his luggage -- but not him -- was called back to the gate when they realized he had not boarded.

Airport security screeners in Birmingham, Alabama first stopped al Soofi and referred him to additional screening because of what officials said was his “bulky clothing.” In addition, officials said, al Soofi was found to be carrying $7,000 in cash and a check of his luggage found a cell phone taped to a Pepto-Bismol bottle, three cell phones taped together, several watches taped together, a box cutter and three large knives. Officials said there was no indication of explosives and he and his luggage were cleared for the flight from Birmingham to Chicago O’Hare.

Amazing! My company decided I had to fly to Dallas from a trip I was on in Denver. This was decided on the 13th and on the 16th I was on a plane. I was searched, body patted and had things pulled out because of my ‘late notice’ purchase of the ticket.
And this guy gets on with suspicious things like a cell phone taped to a pepto-bismol bottle? Cell phones taped together? Who carries stuff like that? And why is a Pepto bottle being allowed on? That’s over 3 ounces last I checked!
Nevertheless, it was criminally wrong, for it made all the innocent passengers unknowing guinea pigs, and potential hostages or casualties.

the 3 stooges could do a better job of security than this administration...
we gave them safe passage out of the country, then had theem arrested?

Questions:
1.Was the luggage checked or was it carry-on?
2.What on earth was it doing on another flight?
3.If it was checked, how did it get on a different flight?

Well, at least the Dutch are willing to arrest individuals who seem to be testing the ability of baggage screeners, I assume the fake bombs weren't in carry on, to detect a bomb. Lesson learned, board a flight leaving the US, not flying to the US. Foreign security will arrest you, the US will take a pass.
OMG....this is exactly what happened a few years ago in St. Louis when I was flying with my 82 year-old wheelchair bound mother. We were taken out of line for "special screening" and they made my poor mom who couldn't even stand on her own get out of her wheelchair (I had to hold her up) so they could check to see if she wasn't sitting on a bomb. I kid you not!
Just a couple of all-American boys playing a prank....right?
