What a difference a state makes.
Here in Texas with Rita (2005) and Ike (2008) the police/sheriff let everybody know in advance to do what you had to do to protect yourself and your property.
Very few problems. One guy got shot (too bad the sob lived) trying to rob his neighbors place (there’s a nice neighbor for ya). Sheriff dept. didn’t even waste his time writing up a report. Just told the guy to come in to the sheriffs dept. when he found the time.

If a state can arbitrarily suspend the 2nd Ammendment, then I propose that my state suspend the 16th Ammendment so I don’t have to pay those pesky taxes anymore. We either have a Constitution, and we are all protected by this document; or we do not. If the State Gov’t THINKS they can bypass my Constitutional rights in this manner; then by the same authority I demand that I no longer pay Income Tax. It makes one realize how darned close we are to "civil disobedience" ... I'm thinking (what would I do here) ... i think I know fairly clearly.

Whoever issued the order is a total idiot. There isn’t even any RAIN, let alone a hurricane emergency anywhere but the coastal area. This is a feeble attempt at a gun grab in a state where every able bodied male gun owner is a member of the state militia.

Gov Beverly Purdue, NC publishes a newsletter letting everyone know how popular she is with Obama Admin, and how much money she is able to get, and all her other accomplishments. She is very liberal, and has made numerous changes in NC, just like other liberal governors in other states. It will be like the federal government, if Obama is dethroned....it will take years to get the state out of debt.......

My daughter is a US Marine who lives just across the border in Virginia. Haven’t heard any similar statement from the Virginia authorities.
Of course, one thing I have learnd (never having been a Marine) is that they stick together..
Good luck enforcing that!
