LOS ANGELES — Protesters on Tuesday night pelted a police station with eggs, rocks and bottles despite Police Chief Charlie Beck’s plea for calm earlier in the day and his promise to thoroughly investigate an officer’s fatal shooting of a Guatemalan immigrant wielding a knife.

Personally I have no problem with non-native speakers of English. I give them credit for trying and recognizing that if you want to be an American we all need to speak a common language, which happens to be English. It’s the ones who come here and REFUSE to speak English who burn me up.
