"...every religion has the right to expect that its sacred books, places of worship and symbols will be respected and protected."

But what about the people of other faiths in muslim countries Pope? Don't they have the "right" to keep their heads attached to their bodies? Are the people of faith not considered "part of the Church" and by extension "sacred"?

All this fuss over pieces of paper attached to one another with words printed on them, yet whimpers from the international community when a Christian gets acid splashed on them or their heads sawed off.

Sorry, not buying into what folks are trying to sell here.

Flame away.

“We are also in a position that such acts may be denounced as apostates from the Vatican. Are you willing to risk a chance to be called the enemy of church and the Vatican, and maybe beyond?”

If Ted Kennedy, who was very evidently an enemy of Christiandom and the Roman Catholic Church was not called an “enemy” and Nancy Pelosi can get medals, I think we’re safe.

And besides, isn’t this is some turd at the Vatican speaking, not the Pope speaking infallably?

There is only one true God, but to lend validity to Islam and say Allah is the same as Jehovah is accepting the lies of their prophet. We must stand our ground.

Good Lord man the General has an army!!!! Maybe he should just quit if he has this kind of fear and let someone else be in charge.

True that!

To be completely honest I think the Gen. as a bad case of the pc's and shows weakness with such remarks.

How ridiculous! The Council is speaking as part of the inter-religious dialog that it has been commissioned for.

This is where the whole ‘judge not’ statement comes in: interpreting motives is best left to God.

“Have you served in Iraq or Afghanistan?”

Yes.

LOL, it was a stupid question in the first place, but that answer must be embarrassing for the guy that asked it.

Ummm ... after checking your profile I now think you were serious (and not sarcastic) in your previous reply ....

So I don’t know how to respond ... except to say that I still think Catholic book-burnings of Protestant bibles must have been unlikely given US history and demographics.

Have a nice day.

Really? In the US? Since Catholics had historically been minorities in the US I think this is highly improbable.

Well, maybe not public burnings, but I recall reading in a biography of an early American priest that he asked his flock to give him any tracts or bible they received from Protestants so he could burn them.

I believe your comment could be seen as a disrespectful verbal offense against our patriotic soldiers fighting in Afghan, even as one of the commanders. There is no one who doubts the victory and success of our brave general who fought and won a terror war in Iraq, the homeland of the Eden.

Yeah that is a good one, a bunch of mosques are built on top of other cultures religious sites (the Dome of the rock, Buddas’ birth place and the church in Constantinople to name a few.

I’ ve always wanted to see a texas cage match between the pope and the grand ayyatollah, complete with hats and robes..The pope comes out and sticks the ayatollah in the eye with the point of his hat fron 20foot away, wait a minute the ayyatollay has wrapped his hat around the pope, we are in a battle royale..
Instead all you get is the pope kissing the Koran while Islam says Christianity is fake..

Come on, lets get ready to rumble!!!

I don’t see Obama and these various people saying that the Pastor has the rights just like the Muslims have the rights.

I agree with that.

I simply find it strange that many here are supporting a "Thank God For IEDs" and "God Hates America" preacher simply because is this publicity stunt.

See my last post # 76.

Bottom line this is ridiculous. I do not buy the our troops are in more of harms way because of this loon preachers future actions. The Mosque issue would have done this if it were the case.

Some where out there right now some terrorist loon is burning Christian Bibles condemning the jews and so forth and spitting on our faces.Would CNN report muchless show outrage if some loon mohamed jad bin loon taped and broadcast the burning of Christian Bibles. Hell no!

It is paper burning. Big deal. Do unto others as they would have do onto you. So this loon preacher is wrong but why don’t people see the cause is so the MSM can SCREAM ISLAMPHOBIA and win at the ground zero mosque terrorist front of triumph?

Good, now with National Association of Evangelicals against the burning too, you now have to quit being a Protestant if you are now one, and not a atheist. Are you willing too?
