GAINESVILLE - FBI agents visited today with a minister of a small Florida church that plans to burn the Quran on Sept. 11, as public safety became a paramount concern and President Barack Obama added his voice to the chorus of opposition. Elsewhere, hundreds of angry Afghans burned an American flag and chanted "Death to the Christians" to protest the planned burning of Islam's holiest text. Obama urged the Rev. I’m so disappointed in the good general. I believe he is indeed a good man. I think his action in this was foolish. There is always talk of our military being the protector of our rights and our country. Yet the general spoke to curtailing those rights because exercising it would incite the enemy.

I think the general used poor judgment by letting himself be used in this manner. Active military officers, particularly generals, admirals, etc., simply do not step up and make commentary on the activities of civilians, the press, etc.. Clearly the general was prompted by his CiC to do this.

Like that victory mosque at Murfreesboro which just happens to be right next to a Baptist church and which, no doubt will dwarf the church. Incidentally, the mosque is being built on a 15 acre parcel of land. Why they had to build it right on this very spot, I do not know, when Murfreesboro is a small town with lots of land, come to think of it, there is plenty of buildable land in the state.

No the police won’t monitor people at the mosque - but I have known police to ‘protect’ baby-killing abortion mills and write peaceful prolife picketers license plates down as intimidation against them.
