Had the Republicans taken control of Congress in 2008, the country would have sunk into a depression, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), told CNBC Thursday.
If we had not won re-election and intervened, we would be in a depression, said Pelosi.
She cited tax cuts for the wealthy, two wars and a prescription drug bill that gave away the store to the pharmaceutical industry, under George W. Bush, as partially to blame for the current state of the economy.

Does she realize that’s pretty much an admission to who was responsible for the 550 billion run on the money market in 2008 as well as the cause of the depression of ‘08 to present?

She cited tax cuts for the wealthy, two wars and a prescription drug bill....How far down the list is a personal jet for the Speaker of the House and $150,000 of taxpayer funded booze?

The economy has spoken, Nancy. You and Urkel have failed - miserably. Unfortunately for the rest of us, you, Urkel and Reid (the infamous Trio of Twits) don't understand that you can't put out a fire by dousing it with gasoline.

If the GOP had won, we would still have big time problems, but much better off. For one thing the business community would not have been demagogued, have much more confidence and therefore more apt to spend some money and hire.

And if “Botox Bimbo” stays one more term as Speaker, you can kiss this country goodbye.
There needs to be a Constitutional Amendment that mandates annual sanity tests - administered by three members of an opposition party - to every politician. Failure to pass will result in immediate hospitalization and a replacement named to fulfill the unexpired portion of the term.

This one's an oldie, from back when she was made minority whip. But it's a pretty good indication of character, and of what was coming down the line when she got full power to do what she liked.

Yes, the Left WOULD be depressed.
I remember when Katie Colonic went on the Today Show dressed in black mourning the election of President Boosh.
She was in tears when his victory was announced.
