Sarah Palin's 2012 Opportunity
US News and World Report's Washington Whispers ^ | September 28, 2010 | Paul Bedard and Caitlin Huey-Burns

Posted on 09/28/2010 8:55:19 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The odds-on favorite to win the GOP presidential nod in 2012 is none other than Sarah Palin, according to a statistical formula developed by Villanova University Prof. Lara Brown. The professor's figuring is bad news for presumed hopefuls like Rep. Mike Pence, Sen. Jim DeMint, ex-Gov. Mitt Romney, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Gov. Haley Barbour, and former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton. Many simply joined the game too late, says Brown, author of the new book Jockeying for the American Presidency: The Political Opportunism of Aspirants, which studies every election since the founding. Others, like DeMint, are still brewing but won't be ready until 2016. As for Newt? "I don't think the GOP can forgive him," she says.

The book devises an "opportunism variable" based on the candidate's résumé to explain who wins the presidency and why. Palin has an advantage because she has been elected both mayor and governor. She also was a major party vice presidential nominee, giving her an enviable breadth of political experience. According to Brown, candidates who take risks and run for a variety of offices do well. It's even better if they lose a presidential race or two. "It takes about a run and a half to get there," Brown says. Pols "may think they can get it done in six months or a year, but [winning] will actually take them running, losing, and planting seeds," she says.

Conclusion: you’re incapable of intelligent discussion.

Insults are all you’ve got.

That’s a shame.

WHO IS YOUR CANDIDATE FOR 2012?!

I'm going with the hands-down winner;

Sarah "Barracuda" Palin, whom history will record as America's first woman and most amazingly accomplished President ever. That she will get so much vital work done for our Nation will be the uniquely unlikely combination of her own incredible abilities and the mammoth mountain of things that need doing quickly to right this badly listing ship of State.

I can't believe you really said that. Surely you're tongue is planted in your cheek.

How revealing. You seize on a typo, because you’re incapable of any intellectual engagement whatsoever.

You have met the ‘tool’, and the ‘tool’ is you.

Man, your panties are so bunched up tonight we’re going to need a crowbar, jaws of life and possibly a winch truck to free them up!

Please quit whining and call the moderators already, the picture seems to have you pretty worked up, but there is no reason to keep bothering the rest of us with your fears, have it removed, or drop it.

Palin supported McCain out of loyalty. She probably considered the possibility of a Presidential run in making the Iowa governor announcement. Other than that, what RINOs did she endorse?

There was no way DeVore was going to win the GOP primary, let alone a CA general election. Palin wanted to stop Tom Campbell and she did.

Nathan Deal is conservative but totally corrupt. He left Congress prior to a potential ethics probe. He may be indicted before the November election. He is running neck and neck with the Dem and in GA he should be way ahead in 2010.

Lamontagne is to the right of Ayotte, but at the time Palin endorsed Ayotte Lamontagne was in single digits in the polls and liberal Republican Bill Binnie was closing fast on Ayotte.

Dead serious, I'm afraid. She is almost inhuman at accomplishing the impossible and making it look easy. I'm not kidding one little bit.

Even her most ardent supporters will be stunned by what she will get done in her first year as President. The woman is a dynamo, and she's an absolutely brilliant executive, administrator and motivator. You'll see.

The whole world will.

Doesn't it just make your skin crawl that so-called "conservatives" conduct running hate campaigns against such an honest and accomplished patriot on this website?

I sort of expect this behavior from left-liberals, but it just boggles the mind that people who count themselves among our number would find so much fault with this brave woman, who stands for everything the conservative right believes in.

"I can't believe you really said that. Surely you're tongue is planted in your cheek. "

What's your candidate done? Palin has taken on Obama, the MSM, the feminists, the environmentalists, the GOP. Top that, and I'll be a convert.

The graphic at #32 is offensive. And if having that pointed out 'bothers' you, that's just Tango Sierra.

I'll 'drop it' when I'm good and ready. I'm still waiting on your pal Onyx to explain exactly what sort of message she was sending to Rabscuttle385 when she put up that image.

Of course I understand why it would take time for Onyx to do that, since she's been so terribly busy posting so many redundant and already-seen pictures of her idol, but I'm a patient guy.

Pass the tissues, if you can, poor little whiney-bot. The "issue" is that you're a deranged little anti-Palin tool. Now let's discuss!

Pretty simple. Rabs has lost the political battle, and he needs to move on. Like you do too.
