He also became closely involved with neo-Nazi David Irving, leading to his firing from National Review. It was indeed a tragic shame that he departed from William F. Buckley/Ronald Reagan conservatism into racism and anti-semitism. May God forgive him.

I met him (along with John Lott and David Horowitz) at a College Republicans' meeting at the University of Chicago back in the late 1990's. This would have put him in his early 50's then. I remember how surprised I was at how frail he appeared. He seemed way older then than his actual years.
