Attorney Burt Odelson, a noted elction-law expert, is predicting Rahm Emanuel will be ineligible for mayor because he is not a legal resident of Chicago.
Odelson told Roe and Roeper on WLS Radio that when Emanuel leased out his Chicago home he could no longer claim he is a resident.

None of that matters. And there are enough people, dead or alive, in chicago who will vote for him to elect him.
He was ordained back in April when he “suggested” that Daley not run again so he could. You think a little residency regulation will stop him? He’s coming to Chicago this weekend for a “listening tour”. His first stop is Graceland Cemetery near Wrigley so he can be sure the dead are listening and will hear his call to vote.
Awwww....isn’t that so cute and just so old-school. Silly old-fogie, when do laws matter to Democrats except to rule us unwashed serfs with?
As we have seen with Obama, anyone mounting a serious legal against a democrat politician ends up being rejected as not having legal standing.
Don’t worry, the Dems, and the media will ignore this....
Of course the LAW means a GREAT deal to democrats!!! Indeed should it actually present any sort of problem, watch how RAPIDLY the law will be changed.
Well, he is a property owner in Chicago. Seems to me all he needs to do is rent an apartment, or buy/rent a condo.
Vote early and vote often.
“Vote early and vote often.”
And don’t forget “bring out your dead”!
You’d think it wouldn’t be too much trouble to establish residence in Chicago between now and filing for the seat.
Still say it’s Valerie Jarrett, the slum lord who will run.
Was he dead already?
A minor example, to be sure, but ca. 1960, while a resident of downstate Illinois, I read about a Chicago aldermanic candidate for re-election who died a few days prior to election day. The Machine quickly moved a man into that ward from his suburban home into a hotel, making him an instant resident of the ward, and got him elected by write-in ballotting.
Where there’s a need, there’s a way.
The law is .. Residence .. For A Year!
Even if you didn’t nail it completely, IMHO you’re real close.
And Obortion O was inelible to run for President too.
UPDATE: Apparently the mob rules. So sad...
So much corruption such little time...
