Polls show non-GOP voters tilting to Murkowski

Democratic Senate candidate Scott McAdams doesn't just have to campaign to win over undecided voters. He also needs to stop people who might have otherwise helped make up his base from going for Sen. Lisa Murkowski's write-in effort.

Polls released last week show the Republican Murkowski drawing significant support among Democrats and independents who might otherwise vote Democratic.

"There were two schools of thought prior to (Murkowski) jumping in," said Anchorage pollster and political consultant Ivan Moore. "The first was that Lisa would split the Republican vote and lead to the Democrat winning. The second was that Lisa would basically split the anti-Miller vote and basically decimate Scott McAdams' chances. The second is very much what's happening."

Moore often works for Democrats but urged Murkowski to get into the race as a write-in. Another Anchorage pollster and consultant, Jean Craciun, also released a poll this week in which she said 30 percent of registered Democrats who responded were supporting Murkowski and another 15 percent were undecided. Craciun's poll was of "super-voters" who'd voted in three of the last four elections.

Polling in this race is problematic. Just because people might choose Lisa Murkowski when offered her name as an option in a poll doesn't necessarily mean the same percentage will take the step of filling in a write-in oval and writing her name when faced with a ballot.

Polls also showed Murkowski comfortably winning the Republican primary, and she lost. For what it's worth, the most recent rash of polling -- Moore, Craciun and another poll from CNN/Time -- now show Miller in the lead with Murkowski closely trailing, or, in the case of Craciun, Murkowski leading. All showed McAdams a distant third.

I don't know about other AK voters but I'm getting poll calls every few days now. My first instinct was to tell them none of your damn business but I've decided to tell them I'm voting for Miller. I want his numbers to be high enough it looks like he has momentum.

“Moore often works for Democrats but urged Murkowski to get into the race as a write-in.”

Imagine that.

That’s an odd headline. “Non-GOP voters”? Why don’t they just say Murkowski is drawing dem and dem-leaning independent voters away from the dem candidate?

If Murkowski wins watch the GOP “leaders” kiss her traitorous butt.

He's now the poster child for "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

So should I care, if voters realize they are voting the survival of their Republic?

Remember when the first reports were coming back that Miller would have a tough race against the Democrat, and it was far from assured?
LOL! Whatever happened to that analysis?

Now it looks like Miller will get over 50%, and Mirkcowsky and McAdams will fight over the scraps!

Great, Miller hopefully will kick the tar out of both the D-Rat and R-Rat. Next up is kicking that bearded Delaware Commie in the teeth!

This has me thinking...
So Mike Castle opted against a write-in campaign.
But that doesn’t stop us from running one on his behalf.
Who says Castle needs to be the one asking people to write him in?

We should start one. Run ads and send mailers in the Democrat heavy areas only. The TV ads could show case Castle’s greatest moments in Congress... According to Democrats. Show him speaking heroically in favor of Cap & Trade, and investigating Bush impeachment for lying about Iraq, and opposing the Surge in Iraq, and defining marriage as one man & one woman.

Who would vote for Murkowski, anyway? I can only think of two groups. Liberal Republicans who simply don’t like the conservative wing of the party, and the Dhims who are hoping to help defeat Miller. Neither group would vote for Miller in the first place.

The local media & news shows are all ramped up with their Murkowski support. They continue to try to convince the populace that Lisa will pull this one out with all kinds of scenarios. Never mention the name Miller. It's actually humorous to see these same jokers now turn to Lisa's aid after years of attacking Sarah Palin. Ever since Palin has become more important than ADN, she is a word unspoken you know.

Miller already has this senate seat in the bag.

The only poll I have seen was a poll done by someone involved in the Democrat’s campaign.

What poll are they referring to? Is there a new one?
