The portrayal of Bush as a little kid and Cheney as a hideous monster was not funny but meant to underscore the left’s contempt for both of them.

I wondered why Rush went along with that part.

I forgot it was going to be on, but Rush sent out a reminder on Facebook.

Listen I’m not advocating their message. I’ve seen plenty of distasteful episodes that make me wonder what the creators were thinking, but, like South park, they do hit the nail on the head with some issues.

Just like those among us who actually condescend to watch MSNBC or CNN, someone should be watching the Left’s garbage to see where the next issue will come up. They telegraph their punches months in advance, and shows like the Simpsons and Family Guy are entertainment platforms that seem to be ubiquitous among viewership (my 80 year old grandfather loves Family Guy).

Did you see the new offshoot of FAMILY GUY? The CLEVELAND SHOW?

The main character (and most everyone else) is black.

One of the main character's quotes: "Barack Obama doesn't care about black people."

The whole first episode was a massive trashing of Obama.

I was shocked, I tell you, shocked.

This was the first episode of this show I watched and I thought it was very funny. The liberal mother was particularly skewered!

The liberal mother reminded me of someone I know personally.

How are the ratings?

But if you look at his diminutive conservative friend who drives the red sports car, you can see that they’re not trying to make friends with the right either.

Matter of fact, wasn’t there an episode recently that made him out to be a murderer and one cut scene had him speeding away in his red sports car with a Bush/Cheney sticker on the bumper?

They slammed Brian pretty well a while back in the one where Lois goes to work for Fox News. While Brian blasts them for having a right-bias, he’s shown to be a hypocrite with his own bias.

But the best one was Quagmire berating Brian for being a hypocritical liberal bore. The rant he went on could be applied to most liberals.

I tried, but man is that a childish cartoon with poor writing, of course with the dirty humor that some junior high boys would find “cool”.

I tend to lean towards your point of view. They could have done a lot better, but since liberals write that show, well, you see what you end up with.

Never been a strong FG watcher anyway. I think most of Fox’s animated shows are kind of running on vapors, including the Simpsons. Now I mean, the Simpsons are just “there”. It’s like they just follow a formula now.

It seemed the overarching message was not to believe everything said about opposing political parties based on what is said or presented about them, but to go out and do the research.

And, realize that some people are liberals at their core, and nothing changes that, even the flavor of the month wears off.

I liked part of it (Pelosi with the crack pipe, Rush kicking butt with the “multi-racial gang” and saving Brian, and Rush turning into an eagle in the end), but the “Jew” comments and his comment about “brain-dead women on expensive life-support machines” (obvious reference to Terri Schiavo) were disturbing. I’m surprised Rush agreed to voice those words...

I disagree with the comments about the ending. Maybe you turned the channel early. Rush running down the street - the leaps and turns into an eagle - which then flies up to a large American Flag in the air - and then a few strains of The National Anthem.

I thought that was a complimentary ending.

Did I get that wrong?

Overall, I think it was to scattered and pasted together to do much good for either side. There were a bunch of silly and unanswered ad hominem attacks on Rush and Conservatives, and liberals could lie because they have good intentions.

However, the end was handled differently: Brian was understood to just be Brian, that's who he is, and Rush was revealed to be a soaring Eagle flying high over his protectorate of America, and it takes a little memory to remember who Brian is: A Marxist dog agitator, that spends his life complaining about the free food, and trying to bugger Lois, the wife of his meal ticket. Yep, that's Brian.

Just saw the show on Hulu. I like good humor as much as the next guy, but that show got very few laughs from me. I didn’t like them portraying W as an idiot and in Rush’s own words, calling Jon Voigt a crazy right winger. IMO, I don’t think Rush did himself and conservatives any favors.

It was relatively benign since they want the ratings numbers. In the end though, they are who they are.

Rush just played the song on his show. I thought it was written to insult conservatives in every way possible. Why he would go along with this is a mystery to me... perhaps some kind of ego-driven blind spot.

They made George W act like he was 4 years old.
