That, and the fact it actually works overseas. Sadly, the Verizon version is only good here in the good ol USA.We don't know that. Among the many rumors is that Apple is getting a combined CDMA/GSM chip from Qualcomm. If it supports GSM, then you can use it overseas, just like the other dual-standard phones Verizon and Sprint offer.
I don't know if Verizon supplies SIM cards for those, or if you're on your own to find a SIM and service overseas.
To: ReignOfError
Verizon (and sister company Vodaphone) provides the SIM for the world-edition Blackberries (Tour, Bold, Storm) so I doubt this would be any different.
Of course, you can still use a local SIM to avoid roaming.

You need a google _account_, not a google email account. You can use your existing email address to sign up for a
Google Account.

Got a Droid X back in August. Best phone I’ve ever had. I truly had Stockholm syndrome with my former Blackberries :)

Generally I’m happy with Sprint pricing and service. But it seems they are always last in the cool phone races.

I hope it ends up with Sprint instead of, or in addition to, Verizon.. Cheaper plans, and solid coverage in my area..Sprint would be a good addition.

Last year the Verizon CEO said they would love to have the iPhone and the ball was in Apple’s court.

It works overseas. The bills are horrifying, but it works. :)
