House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may be second in line to the presidency, but her influence apparently pales in comparison to a good poker face.
Pop star and "Poker Face" hitmaker Lady Gaga is more powerful than Pelosi and many others, including Sarah Palin, according to Forbes magazine's new list of the world's 100 most powerful women.
We've come up with a new ranking of the female power elite that reflects the New Order of now," Forbes' Meghan Casserly wrote, explaining that new rankings are based on broader cultural influence than traditional titles.
First Lady Michelle Obama topped the list and Gaga was ranked No. 7, behind Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton but ahead of major political and business figures such as Pelosi, who ranked No. 11.

What, in upper body strength? I could buy that.
How to reduce your circulation by proving that the people you are trying to impress probably don’t read your rag.
Glad we cancelled our Forbes subscription. Lots of their articles are little blurbs that direct me to their website.
Nope
Who is lady Gagger?
Is that a cross dresser?
Again, they have confused power with influence. Lady Gaga is influential, she exerts a malevolent influence on young women. she doesn’t exercise power. Ditto Mrs. BO. And I don’t know how influential she is with most normal people.
Standing on a street corner in any of the larger cities, and asking to following questions:
“What did Congress do last week”
and
“What did Lady Gaga do last week”
would produce answers that would send most of us on this board into depression. Unfortunately, you could substitute Lindsy Lohan for Lady Gaga and get the same results.
It also explains how idiots like zero get elected.
Lady Gaga can’t put me in jail for not buying health insurance.
This is one of many times that I am so happy to have left the USA.
I have no clue as to who lady GaGa is, or what she does.
With a name like that, I probably do not want to know.
But she can be part of the PR machine that gets the brain dead zombies to vote for the M'er F'er who will put you in jain for not doing things their way.
RE: This is one of many times that I am so happy to have left the USA.
Wherever you are, you’ll probably catch her on your radio :)
Where are you now?
I don’t watch much tv, so the first time I heard of this person was right here on FR. Still don’t know what she does...is she a singer? Entertainer? Politician?
On the other hand she is in remarkably good shape due to her very energetic exercise regime ~ to prep for a fantastic number of live shows.
I did some research on this young lady to see if there was any way to invest my IRA funds in her success (alas there isn't). Her track record is truly phenomenal ~ particularly her early Swedish tours.
Her forte is dance music ~ CHICK dance music in fact. This is the kind of stuff that feeds the fires of the women's competitive dance clubs all over the world.
I can see Lady Gaga's weenie from my house!
Pelosi is Lady Gag Me.
