Faulkner County residents had a shaky start to their Monday morning as a 4.0-magnitude earthquake rattled throughout the county.
The quake, which occurred at 8:33 a.m. and was centered two miles southeast of Guy, was just one of 48 earthquakes reported since Wednesday afternoon.
All but three of the earthquakes were recorded within three miles southeast or south-southeast of Guy. Wednesday afternoon’s quake and two quakes on Thursday were reported east-northeast of Guy.
According to Shelia Maxwell with the Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management, the U.S. Geological Survey is looking into the recent earthquake activity in the area.
“We’re having them (earthquakes) in places we’ve never had them before,” Maxwell said. “The USGS is looking into why we’re having them and why there have been so many.”

A year or two there were dozens and dozens of small earthquakes around Lake Tahoe, and nothing big ever came of it. Hopefully, it will be the same with these.
I'm trying to imagine big time, cataclysmic historic earthquake, centering near Little Rock, so great it's tossing desks out 40 story windows in Chicago.

I didn’t think of that it was just the title the way they posted it I guess I should have added it. The reason I think it’s of interest is the New Madrid Fault zone you would almost think it’s waking up and a major quake there would be really devastating. The National Guard had preparedness training within the past month for just that scenario.

You have to figure anything named “Faulkner County” would be in the southern part of the US.

Several comments on the linked story talk about gas drilling in the area.
The quakes were very shallow, so they could be related to drilling. It’s not unprecedented to have quakes related to drilling.
Maybe. And the entire Midwest could be sitting balanced on plate, which is teeter on a cliff the size of Ohio....
Even bedrock can be liquefied or pounded into the consistency of oatmeal, by massive fault slippage, causing entire buildings to go under and repeated aftershocks.
