Which Country Has More Friends - Israel or Iran?

As a long time supporter of Israel, I find myself puzzled at the manner in which America conducts its Iran policy. America often tells Iran that their country is isolated from the International Community, and that if the Iranians want to end their isolation, they need to stop supporting terrorism and end their nuclear program.

Is Iran really isolated? Iran may be isolated from America, but not from the rest of the world. The more than 50 Muslim countries around the world support Iran. So do major non-muslim third world nations in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Russia and China carry out a lot of trade with Iran, and they often support Iran on the UN Security Council, preventing effective UN sanctions. What is worse, is that the major Western European nations do a lot of business with Iran, despite being US allies in the NATO alliance. Japan also trades with Iran. President Ahmadinejad is treated as a major celebrity by the America media, and he gets softball interviews by American journalists. Have you noticed Ahmadinejad gets better coverage in the mainstream media than Paris Hilton? If what Iran is enduring is "isolation", what more friends would Iran have, if their "international isolation" ended?

Compare Iran's treatment with that of our democratic ally, Israel. Israel is always being denounced in the UN for its human rights abuses, by such luminary defenders of human rights such as Sudan, Libya, North Korea and Cuba. Europe has a grassroots movement calling for the boycott of Israeli goods, but not of Iranian goods. Under Obama, Israel cannot even count on its supposed ally, the USA. Did any of you hear any country defend Israel, during its efforts to stop Turkish militants from breaking the seige of Gaza? Perhaps if Israel wants to end its isolation, it needs to become an undemocratic, theocratic, fascist, and terrorist state such as Iran. Perhaps the things that we freedom lovers admire Israel for, are the things that are causing Israel to be hated.

I can understand why the 50 Muslim nations support Iran. Muslims nations stick together in international affairs, even when Shiites and Sunnis are killing each other in Iraq.

But I cannot understand why the Christian nations of the world, in North America, Europe, and Latin America, refuse to support Yahweh's chosen people, in the name of Judeo-Christian solidarity.

This world is supposed to have over 2 billion Christians. How can the Jews, the people who gave us our Holy Scriptures, be treated like international pariahs in a world of 2 billion Christians. If Israel is not worth defending, which other cause is more important?

Israel-bashing has become one of the world's favorite sports, almost as big as soccer. No wonder many Jews have abandoned their faith and joined the radical left, where they can get some love and companionship. Noam Chomsky is one of the world's most popular Jews, because he bashes Israel better than the Muslims. If Chomsky was pro-Israel, he would not be the popular global celebrity he is today, worshipped in universities all over the world. How many college professors get to pal around with Hugo and Fidel, a fantasy that many of our professors harbor?

If Israel is ever destroyed by the Muslims, it will be because of the silence of its so-called friends, rather than the strength of its enemies.

Beyond me also.

There may be 2+ billion Christians in the world, but probably relatively few hold positions of power in their respective country. Just guessing.

The first nation targeted by Iran when they get their Nuke will be Israel, after that they will turn on their Arab neighbors, because they are closest. Too bad they don’t understand that.

Last I checked, Jesus was Jewish and he seems like a pretty popular fellah. I would advise against engaging in popularity contests with him and his pals...

I'm not a journalist, but I'd be happy to play one on TV long enough to have a televised interview with Ahmadinejad -- just be aware that it would be his last. Thanks pinochet.
